NOXVILLE, Tenn. – Tennessee soccer head coach Brian Pensky recorded his 100th career win at UT on Sunday afternoon as the Vols took a 2-0 victory over Miami (Ohio) in front of a crowd of 500 in Regal Soccer Stadium.

"It feels good. I certainly had no idea… A hundred means we've stuck around for a little bit, plugging away. Obviously, I'm fortunate to have had a lot of good players here and a lot of great coaches working with us. It equals longevity, so I'm proud of that for sure," said Pensky.

UT (2-0) out-shot the Redhawks (0-2) 17-3 and dominated time of possession, maintaining control for 64 percent of the game. Junior Lindsey Romig recorded the shutout in goal with two saves on the day.

Freshman Jordan Fusco was first to strike for UT, driving a volley past the Redhawks' keeper from eight yards out off a cross by Maria Nelson 32 minutes into the game.

Tennessee's second goal came six minutes later when redshirt-junior Brooke Wilson headed the ball to the far post off a serve by senior Hannah Zaluski.

The Volunteers kept the pressure on in the second half, getting seven looks at the goal and taking six corners, but were unable to add to their tally.

"In terms of today, it was tough. Our kids put it out there. It was our first two-game weekend. It's obviously hot, and we're playing against a team that sits back and keeps the game in front of them, and it made it difficult.

"We scored two good goals. We got balls in behind them, and we were trying to do that more, but it just wasn't happening… We still held them to three shots, and that's a good deal. And we created a couple opportunities to win, so you've just got to learn from this," said Pensky.
