let the VFL thing die. They all got free educations, nothing else is owed to them. Start over , new coach, new coordinators, and new mentality. I appreciate all they have done, but they are not due anything else. That is exactly what we need ,move on from the old and create a new culture and future.

We need to get over this obsession with we must hire a VFL or they must have SEC experience that is not what we need. We need the very best out there that can do the job and get us going in the right direction. This old way thinking is what got us in this shape to begin with and it appears we are hopefully making steps in the right direction.

I love Fulmer and Tee and I love that they love UT. However, Fulmer should have retired outright when his wife told him to (2001?). Tee isn’t ready to be HC at a place like UT.

The VFL thing is fine. No issue continuing strong ties with former players. They are often our best advertisers for recruiting, etc.

VFL isn't the issue. Continuing to hire incompetent people to run our Athletic Department and our football program is the issue. Stop making incompetent hires. Let's hope this latest try will be better. I'm pretty tired.

As a fan base/ program we can no longer stand for hiring anyone solely based on them being a “VFL”. Fulmer has milked this program for all it’s worth because fans and administration perceive him as a “VFL”. If we’re being honest, Tee was never ready for a head coaching position here. Again, we have fans and exhausted, lazy, underachieving former players claiming Tee deserves the head coaching job at a program with some of the most respected traditions and history of any NCAA football program. All because of former accolades as a player or something unrelated to the job position in question. Never again do I want to hear of anyone being hired for any **** position at UTK because they were a supposed “VFL”. There are so many more examples it makes me sick. I’m a UTK alum and a “VFL” so does that make me a candidate for head coach, position coach, A.D. etc? I’m excited to see what Heupel and White bring to the table moving forward with a blank slate (minus NCAA investigations). Let’s stand behind these guys and see where it takes us. Hiring someone who is a “VFL” or loves the university and doesn’t have the job credentials has put UTK in terrible positions time and time again.
Go VOLS!!!

Gotta Watch those VFL’s they are a sneaky bunch, but can they be trusted?

Lots of these folks we call "Bama" WORKED at Alabama but few of Saban's coaches are alums.

Currently, Roach comes to mind....... obviously Pruitt...... but Saban hires talent, not alums.

Maybe we should learn from a very successful program?
