The win streaks are nice but I’m really sick of losing our three biggest games of the year in blowout fashion. It’s hard to see much progress when you’re getting beat by 20+ pts against the teams you’re going to have to go through to start talking division, SEC, and National titles. I know we’ve been held back (in comparison with our rivals) by lack of talent and coaching turmoil but at what point do you need to see progress in those three games?

Two chances left in 2020.... Do we need to steal one this year, two next year? Curious on your thoughts.

I don’t disagree or agree really,I think the defense played really well first half and middle second.JG gets happy feet and doesn’t scan the field well.Teams know this so their gonna play man coverage and bring the house every play. They know if he gets hit he’ll rattle and start making multiple mistakes as we saw yest. The oline MUST do a better job but Jg gotta “Know when you hold em,know when to fold em”u get the gist.So any screens, run plays etc will be stuffed out immediately. No one fears JG going deep on them, plain and simple get to JG u win the game.

Right now, he just needs to beat the teams he should: SC, Mizzou, Ky, Arky and Vandy.

Compete against and win one or two game against the middle tier teams (Barn, aTm and I would put Fla in this group).

A bonus to compete against the top tier (Ga and Ala). Check for one half against Ga, but not for a complete game. One chance left.

IMO.

Uga starts a 4th string walk on at qb.....and he's better than our starter! We are a long way off from beating bama or uga. We will be a middle to lower tier team with JG at qb, and I'm starting to believe that friend is just as bad.

Yea, they played their 3 and 4 string RBs and they were better than our RBs...in fact, talent wise they are probably better at every position again this year...

So the bar is set even lower than it was for butch who beat both ga and fl???

Great!!!

We are on KY level expectations now.

As much as I want to win all three of those games, I would be really happy if this year we could win every other game besides those three. Got to start doing that reliably again as a first mile-marker. Then the 3 others will fall.

I doubt it will be this yr. I thought we’d go 6-4 this yr w the ceiling being 7-3 w better QB play. It is what it is. We will not beat the top three without good QB play.

Defenses can stack 8 in the box and place the game in QB”s hands.

I’m tired as anyone saying wait until (insert yr) ..... but we will have two more yrs when Bailey has experience.

That would get him to 6-4 to 7-3 against an all SEC schedule. I think most reasonable fans would be very happy with that.

So you are setting the bar lower than we did for butch???

It's a yes or no.....

Butch best ga and FL.

Kiffin beat ga.

No ...kiffin got mark fired he pounded him so hard.

The OL did well the 2nd half of last year and the first two games this year. They are regarded as one of the best OL’s in the country. They fail to open lanes against a stacked box yesterday and all of a sudden our OL coach is bad? Ridiculous. It is a Qb issue not an OL issue.
Regarding the pass protection , I believe most of the problem was Rb’s not picking up the blitz’s or Georgia simply rushing more than the blockers we had available. That is when you need a good Qb to make quick decisions and exploit the man-to-man matchups. I’m going to review the game this week with a special focus on the OL. I suggest every else do that and we can get a clearer understanding of each specific lineman’s performance.

LOL-The Georgia teams Butch faced are not remotely close in talent to what Georgia has the last 3 years. Florida, maybe but probably not close either.

I didn't expect nothing this year. Just to complete with these guys and we kind of did that yesterday. Next year I expect to beat someone we shouldn't

Butch and Kiffin beat lesser Ga and Fla teams. You are comparing apples and oranges. Butch’s best records were 9-4 (8-4 regular season) with at least 3 easy OOC wins added in.

So, the answer to your question is No.

I’m still not 100% sold that Pruitt is the long term answer. And he needs to start beating the top tier teams, but not necessarily in this season (with two additional SEC games and no OOC cupcakes)...as long as he takes care of business in the other games.

One step at a time.

We just barely beat South Carolina. Kentucky and Arkansas might be tougher games than you think.

Regardless, we're stuck with Pruitt because Fulmer sees him as a younger version of himself. Just hope the hire works out by next year.

Competed for a half and would of competed to the very end with a capable Qb. Pruitt knows what he has in JG, if he doesn’t at minimum rotate other Qb’s next game to some degree, then I will question if he is the right guy. JG had three turnovers and was lucky there was not a 4th. No excuse to not give other guys some reps.

I’m not saying he will beat any of them. I’m saying that this would get him to 6-4 to 7-3, and I don’t think any reasonable fan would complain too loudly about it.
