I got up to get the kayak out Saturday morning. 5:30 am. Was sweating before I got it loaded. Decided to go back inside.Haven't been out since the heat got real bad a few weeks ago. No relief in the foreseeable future. Every time I think about making an attempt on the weekend, I just go walk to get the mail and that sets my mind straight.
May try some spots under some bridges that I haven't hit in a while to stay out of the direct sun but even in the shade it's been killer with zero wind. 110+ feels like temps should be illegal.
Them red eyes are very good eatingThe grandkids who live here with me had never been fishing. I kept promisin I was gonna take em....got em a couple of Zebco Dock Demons after Joe mentioned that combo (because I figure Joe is about their size hahaha).....my school had its back-to-school picnic tonight at the farm of one of our teachers....the back of the farm is Copper Creek....creek was down a little bit, but Kenna got a couple of redeyes and Hunter got a baby smallmouth.View attachment 762391

The guy there in the red shorts in Hunter's pic is a former student of mine, and he caught two small trout before we got there....makes cents since Copper Creek flows into the Clinch River.
