spurrier's comments just sum it all up.


“We didn’t make a big deal about Tennessee,” Spurrier said, noting that his team was a six-point favorite over the Vols. “We were supposed to beat them last night. We could have beaten them by more maybe if our offense had got going.

“The Tennessee band was there last night, weren’t they?” Spurrier said Sunday afternoon in his weekly conference call with reporters. “I’m used to hearing ‘Rocky Top.’ . . . Maybe they only play that when they score. Usually when you play Tennessee, you hear that ‘Rocky Top’ so often it’s ringing in your brain.”

This is what the football program has come to, a effing joke. :cray:

There was no point during that game that I feel we can win that game. Not surprised about his comments.

This is what comes from enabling a has-been coach for at least 3 years. It's kinda comical how nobody thought it was problematic when we lost to Vandy and our players left their helmets on the field.............

Refreshing. I used to detest Spurrier's being, now eh, not such a bad guy.

Exactly. He knew when they scored the 2nd TD it was OVER. 14 points is plenty to beat the Vols anymore.

To me it's refreshing to hear a coach simply state the obvious. I for one am tired of hearing the normal dribble (e.g. "we beat a good team and coach tonight, blah, blah, blah)

Steve''s not the only one to make comments like that this year. Its clear we're suffering not only in the lack of a coach, but talent wise too. Its all eroding from the inside out.

He does speak the truth, but I bet he doen't want a change. He sees the Vols as a easy win. Why would he want change.

I seriously doubt he sees the Vols as an easy win. Our record against him at SC would lead you to believe otherwise.

While I think it is time for Fulmer to go, I also believe we will be looking at two or three more disappointing seasons (at least) until we are "competitive" again.

SC's defense is solid their offense is only slightly better than ours, the biggest difference is O-line play.

when its all said and done, your little window will only last about 2 years, enjoy it. You will fall back to earth and still be who you are, which is a 2nd tier program.

That's what it's liked to be kicked while you're down.

Too bad Spurrier doesn't feel that kind of heat anymore...low expectations there in Columbia.
