Meh. Quite a few say those things about the entire team. I havent seen many around here say JG sucks, I only read the recruiting forum. And the ones who do are likely on ignore. The majority of us just want to win and dont care who starts. May the best man win.
There are people saying hes a terrible QB. Anybody remember how bad Drew Locke was at Missouri starting out?
I learn from the master, and that's a compliment.
But, it's not.
Thats a good point and will be interesting to see. Kirby seems like the coach who demands to run the call but losing Sony and Chubb and some OL are huge.
Also not easy...despite your dismissal. Fromm was a huge reason for their season...just facts.
Point being he did everything NEEDED to win. I dont dismiss him because their running game was epic. Not every QB wins as much...Eason didnt.
It helps to have those running backs and line. Didnt say he sucked and was a non prospect BUT it wouldve appeared so if he had played in UTs O last year.
Yes, there are a few saying those things. Just as there is a few (hhh-hmmm, clears throat) that over critique or even bash every single UT qb not named JG.
No different than any other qb competition we've ever had. Most want the best qb to win the job. The minority apparently just want their guy handed the job and the competition to go away ashamed and battered for having the nerve to try. That goes for both sides.
Point is not that hes bad but he didnt have to be great. He wouldve looked like **** if he was playing at UT for Butch last year like most others would have as well with the situation we had.
They definitely don't get to the title game with Eason. Not because of Fromm, but because Chaney was forced to rely on the run game and not get all pass happy like he always has been. Fromm was a game manager, but I could see him being very good down the road. I could also see Chaney going back to his old ways and putting the game on his back and Fromm having a terrible sophomore year.
Im saying this needing thing is a futile point. The quarterback brings it all together. And weve seen equally talented squads with lost seasons because of their quarterbacks. Kid did everything and MORE to get them to the NC game. Did everything and MORE to win it. Fell short. And thanks for using the douchey not that difficult qualifier instead of disagreeing honestly. :hi:

Do you think he thrives on our team last year like he did with Georgia? No freaking way. Hes a really good QB but he didnt have to be great.
But in GEORGIAS, he played well enough for them to win a SEC Championship and play in the NC game. And I aint buying that a QB couldnt mess that up. There were vital times in the regular season and the playoffs where he was the deciding factor.
You dont KNOW that. You generally assume. With the FACTS as they are, he was a SEC Championship winning QB who led his offense to a huge lead in the NC game. Others DID NOT.
