Comparing Mazzone, a proven OC in the SEC, ACC, NFL, & the PAC 10... to Clawson, an OC from the Richmond Spiders? He's not a gimmick guy, he's the best we can get.

His offense has been good everywhere he's gone. Blaming assistant coaches for head coaching failures starts a slippery path. Do you blame Wilcox for Dooley's failures?

I can see that it would be a good challenge. But it's not like Wisconsin is a flash in the pan. And remember, Wilcox came from Boise St... not a BCS school.

He has been an OC for over 2 decades. No reason to believe he has any interest in head coaching. It looks like Mazzone has adjusted to his surroundings with his teams. He didn't sling the ball around under Tubberville. But when you coach in the PAC 12, running isn't a strong recruiting point...

I do agree with you. But we have to find a realistic replacement if Dooley gets enough balls to fire Chaney. And I don't care if he's in the WAC, 11th in the country is worth the change.
