I lived in New Orleans in '98 when Tulane went 11-0. They easily beat BYU in the Liberty Bowl. They deserved a tougher opponent.
There have been rumblings about a G5/G6 championship.....it works for FCS, Div II, and Div III.
I hope it was his choice rather than the coaches'. I recall Brian McClure -- tore up the MAC at BGSU -- had more passing yards than Doug Flutie....went to the California Raisin Bowl and stunk....wasn't taken until the 10th round.

A good performance in your bowl game can increase your draft stock...a poor one can decrease it.
OK, I was wrong. 4-5 in the Big Ten, and 7-5 overall. Yep, cancelling that spring game didn't do much apart from alienating 70k fans who wanted to attend.
