I lived in New Orleans in '98 when Tulane went 11-0. They easily beat BYU in the Liberty Bowl. They deserved a tougher opponent. There have been rumblings about a G5/G6 championship.....it works for FCS, Div II, and Div III.

I'm not sure, but I'd guess Joe Milton was probably kicking himself for opting out of Iowa. A good performance in your bowl game can increase your draft stock...a poor one can decrease it.

I recall Notre Dame doing that...1980's, as I recall. They were 6-5 and there weren't as many bowls back then.
