Which championships, National or SEC ?
Out of the 6 claimed national, Coach Neyland had 4.
Out of the 16 SEC, Neyland had 9.
As I said, Coach Neyland is the foundation and our greatest coach.
But Tennessee Football has continued to have elite seasons with subsequent coaches.
Not accurate. Sure Coach Neyland built the foundation, but we have had several coaches who have built elite football teams ........ Dickey, Majors, Fulmer
Danny Dollar's ego is in the way and his condescending demeanor is not helping.
All White has really done at Tennessee is hire Josh Huepel, which surprisingly turned out well.
Josh pulled our beloved football program out of the decade of misery.
Whether he can get the Vols over the hump from...
Lanier was a scorer, similar to Knecht. He was not a catch & shoot 3-point knock-down shooter.
Both of those players scored off the move or the dribble.
I still hold Ray Mears in the highest regard. The tournament qualifying rules were far more restrictive when he was coach - you had to win your conference, period.
Most of his teams would have made the NCAA tournament. The'67 team lost to the eventual runner-up, Dayton, on their home floor by 1...
For some reason, Barnes just does not recruit enough offense.
There are shooters (catch & shoot) and scorers (Knecht). Barnes has had a few scorers, hardly any knock-down shooters.
It is possible to have a player who can consistently hit perimeter shots and to also play solid, if not elite...
My definition of blue blood is years and years of high-level success. Long term pedigree, not Spurrier one-decade of success at novae riche Florida.
Vitello was off to a great start and I was looking forward to watching him continue to win and build.
Danny Dollars player money distribution among UT programs played a part.
Obvious that White and Tony were not best of friends, so to speak.
How much it played in Tony's decision, I don't know, but it was a factor.
Depressing to me, I thought Vitello would be here a long time and build a...
Yep, Our 5-star "I want more money" receiver dropped a key touchdown slant at the 5 yard line that started the downfall .......... well along with the idiotic roughing penalty at the end of the first half.
Lack of on-field discipline is a big problem with Heupel's teams.
