Lawdy, Lawdy, this is painful. At least in a relative down year, we play in yet another super-regional. Even our disappointing seasons in baseball, basketball and football these days, we are still very good.

We loaded the bases on 3 straight solid singles in the 3d until our hottest hitter grounds perfectly into an easy double-play. Agonizing.

That's because the evaluation model is rigid and a bad method to judge teaching ability. They want robotic clones who all teach exactly the same way.

Good Lord, we just gotta make games interesting with our shaky defense, Coach Vitello's teams have never had defense as their strong suit, but this season has been worse. How much does the coaching staff stress defense for this program or is it just, "we'll outscore everybody" ?

Problem is that Vitello's teams have always been a little shaky defensively, whether it is fielding errors, throwing errors or the inability to prevent stolen bases in droves at times. I guess his approach to the game is to put so many great bats in the lineup that we outscore most teams. But...

It's the way they are losing that is so painful. Bad errors, wild pitches, giving up stolen bases in droves, giving up bad HR's often on 2 strikes, outhitting opponents but leaving multiple guys on base. I get the post-rain problem today, but the seats should be packed for a Vandy series. Tough...

On another note ............ where in the hell are all our fans ? Defending national champions and we can't fill the place for a conference game ? We lose some games and now our "best fan base in the country" loses interest ?
