No. In this iteration of the 12 team field, the top four highest rated conference champs get an auto bid and bye. The fifth highest ranked conference champ (Tulane) gets one auto bid and the highest ranked G5 (JMU) gets one auto. Duke had like five losses and was nowhere near the top 25. The...
IMO, Diego should not get another year and his situation is different than Joey's.
Diego played two at NMSU and two at Vandy after his JUCO year. He's already expended his four years of D1 eligibility. JA has only had three years of D1.
My gut tells me its more about how the transfer process has changed with the portal. He could probably get paid about the same no matter where he went, but with Vandy maybe a chance to play right away and if it doesn't work out so what? He then just transfers to UGA or wherever he wants to be a...
Not sure why you're being a douche and trying to take every aspect as a binary construct. It's obvious the offense has struggled to score points against good defenses and has struggled against just about everyone in the red zone. Do you really think this offense has done well against some of the...
No, that's ridiculous. One game does not a season make. I highlighted how this offense fails - most of the time - to even reach 27.5 average much less 30 or 40 when we play good teams/defenses. And I've already highlighted two instances where its occurred.
Edit. Top 14 in scoring as I wanted to get that representative of the entire universe of programs.
I'm indifferent on what parameters you want to use. Time of game is not a good indicator because some teams may have played 5 games where others have played 7 at a point in the season. So, end of...
How do you define "elite" defense?
Top 14 in scoring defense. Probably has top 20 total defense and 3rd down efficiency. So, we're talking defense in the 90th percentile of all D1 teams. We played three and lost all three though one was good offensive production (see below).
How do you define...
What other elite defenses has this offense scored 40 against? Check that just 30? I want to see it succeed but Heup buries weak opponents with 50-70 point games to prop up the numbers. In games against teams with winning records, which means they at least have decent defenses, we averaged 28 ppg.
Yes, as long as the talent outmatches the talent on the defense. We have yet to see this offense succeed against an elite defense. Bama '22 perhaps is the closest. Even if we count Bama 22 that's proven to be more of an anomaly. And I would count UGA this year but obviously their defense...
I don't know where you got your numbers from, but you might want to double check.
Total Defense: 86
3rd Down Def: 83
Red Zone Def: 99
Scoring Def: 91
This is how you lose every meaningful game. And we did.
One thing is clear. Tonight was a microcosm of this season. Vandy’s defense > than UT defense. And the offense was forced to score on every possession which obviously it didn’t do. Vandy held the ball for half the entire third qtr coming out of the break. That’s atrocious. Last year, the defense...
How is it going to tell us which one is correct? Especially since I don’t think he’s getting drafted. But it’s not because of arm strength. I mean granted he’s not a Joe Milton but who is but him. As I have stated and demonstrated he has enough arm strength but has other things that scouts are...
