Excited for him. Selfish on my fan part, wished he would have played in the Orange Bowl, but get the opting out. That being said, says a lot about him since he was leaning to not playing, but still wanted a part of his NIL deal to be so his teammates families could have a place to stay for...
I don't think the team as a whole has been doing much practicing the last week anyway with exams. With his decision coming at 1 pm today, that is probably before bowl practice really ramps up.
It is absolutely fair to take into consideration a late November bad loss by a large margin. But, if you are going to consider that abysmal defensive gaffe, then you need to also consider what that same defense did the very next week. Yes, I know it was "Same Ol Vandy", and really a home game...
You mean the band made of mostly of students from other area colleges that has to use the dance team to even make attempt at spelling Vandy? Which by the way the Vol fans will do the VOLS spell out during their pregame show.
The fact that Vandy is worried about it and doesn't want it, makes more reasons to absolutely do this. They think they are the team for the Nashville area, but the largest Alumni chapter outside of Knoxville (which just our local Alumni chapter is larger than their entire fanbase) says otherwise.
I'm just glad we are getting a noon game based on the opponent and not because of the Vols being awful. The TV execs probably expect a similar outcome to last years Missouri game. So nice to be at this level again.
To have a starter drop down from dehydration during a walk-through is clear indication of a failing program. That's a simple thing to have in place, especially with all the nutrition resources available to FBS programs.
