    Missed Connection

Solid idea, but execution left a lot to be desired. “Heaters” kind of gave you away. No one uses that and then says “somewhere nice like Applebees”. Needed more “me and a buddy come up to Knoxville for a party and I seen a chick that made my loins tingle something fierce” and less “streaming...

Matthew Butler a Mel Kiper sleeper at DT

Kiper has him as the first Vol off the board, going at 82 to the Falcons. Velus at 90 to the Titans. This is from the McShay/Kiper three round mock released this AM. Obviously nothing earth shattering, but gives you a rough feel/idea of when these two could potentially hear their names called.

Agreed. Thought his handling of Corral, Pickett, Georgia’s run game, Bryce Young, and the world beater Emory Jones was exceptional. Get off your high horse. We don’t owe a defensive coordinator anything. We’ve all been fans long before his arrival and we’ll all cheer for our Vols long after...

Agreed, his DC didn’t do anything to help his cause until he took him out, but WB is a junior

No. This game should have been over well before OT. The D just consistently gave up big plays and displayed piss poor technique by way of tackling and angles taken. As @Vol865 mentioned and I’ll gladly concede, the O did nothing to help this.

And I don’t disagree with that at all, but the crux of most of the D’s shortcomings were technique and scheming, rather than them being gassed. To your point though, this offense isn’t conducive to an overly successful D in general, but it can’t be as pitiful as it was tonight.

Yeah, you’re right - holding the opponent’s QB to 530+ and 5 TDs is awesome. My bad, you’re right

Agreed. He’ll need a big year this year if he wants to keep coaching. 16-48 in his third year ain’t great, even in Cookeville.
