You aren’t getting playmakers around you to your liking in an offense that has been one of the best in America for the past 5 years.
So to fix that you go to a team that is projected to win 4-5 games with an OC who has never called plays with zero returning WRs and RBs who aren’t worth a darn...
It doesn’t take much foresight to see that both Iameleavas jump ship after a 5-7 season, they will have wasted money on both of them and be in the same position as they were this year.
This is a career ruining move by DeShaun Foster.
He could take the challenge head on and beat out Nico for the #1 spot.
That would be hilarious to see Nico take a substantial pay cut and get beat out by a former App St. QB.
You’re giving them a lot of credit. They will be 10+ point dogs against Utah. They will be dogs against both MSU and Northwestern. Their only games I could see them being favored in is Maryland, Washington and New Mexico.
This season for them will be akin to Tony Elliott’s first season at UVA...
They have an excuse that Heups offense has a disastrous record of getting guys ready for the NFL (5 NFL draft picks as OC/HC will be 6 when Dillon Gabriel gets drafted) so he goes to play for a HC and OC that have never gotten a QB to the NFL.
Make it make sense Nic
It would be pretty wild if we pay a guy as much as Nico, said guy leads us to 10 wins or more and a top 3 round draft pick. Meanwhile Nico takes a $1M hit before taxes, goes 5-7, is a middle of the pack Big10 QB and doesn’t get drafted
That UCLA @ OSU game might have the highest viewership of any Big10 game all season. That is if Nico is still healthy or not sitting out due to poor play of his teammates or checks bouncing.
I assume there are some smart people at UCLA. They have to understand that they are his only P5 play at this moment. I would go with $1M take it or leave it if I were them. They will have all of the leverage in this situation.
UNC turned Nico down for a QB from South Alabama. If I were Tulane and in talks with Nico’s people I would play the long game with them. At some point they may be the best he can get and that may very well be south of $1M.
Georgia has no business being at #4 or even in the Top 10. From a shear talent standpoint it is 1. A&M, 2. UT then everyone else by a wide margin. It will be interesting to see what the new coach at A&M will be able to accomplish because they have the potential to be a juggernaut.
