We must be different types of people. I have a seemingly endless capacity for hate.

His dad, Jason Bates played for the Rockies from 1995-1998. Overlapped with Helton a little bit there.

I hadn't seen that, thank you. I've also heard Texas made a run at Abernathy, as well Casan Evans and Jake Brown.

I realize I'm just a guest here. JJ Cooper is the best available source unless you have access to the MLB collective bargaining agreement or official rulebook. It happens with less than 1% of the players each year. It must happen prior to the draft. And that just saying you're taking your...

99% of the time that is the case. And it's 100% of the time the case once the draft has started. You can't formally remove yourself after the draft has begun. But the official process is becoming more popular.

The source is Baseball America's editor in chief addressing this earlier this year.

Not if you go through the formal process of removing yourself from the draft. It's different than simply announcing on twitter that you're not taking any more calls. If you go through the formal process, you are not eligible to be drafted.

They were. They were part of the only class Nolan Cain had full control of while the recruiting coordinator (due to the way classes used to be built several years out). Cain was hired as a the recruiting coordinator from the OPS role, neither of which he had experience with before taking on...

To further illustrate who the top two coaching staffs are in the country, Silseth pitched in the CWS under Jay Johnson and Nate Yeskie. Watching the end of the Mainieri era, it was crazy seeing guys transfer out of LSU and effectively fall off the map (meaning they never should have been in the...

This interview was before the Mack commitment happened. He was referencing a kid from Baylor that committed to A&M during the championship series.

    SEC to use Trackman

Florida is the program that doesn't use Trackman. I don't know what system they use, but it provides enough of the same information. Trackman is the doppler radar based system, Yakkertech is camera based, so they can co-exist. The camera-based stuff helps more with pitching because it's able...
