I mean, until they schedule visits with more, I have no evidence they won't be finished at that with seven DL/edge types in the recruiting class coming in.
Spillman also has an extra year in college on Perlotte, and generally speaking they're referring to it as an athletic comparison between the two. Spillman had nothing to do with it, and no one suggested Perlotte or Rouse was better than Spillman.
Rouse is set to arrive at 6-3, 210 and very...
I have thoughts on that wild swing of a QB. It's a reach down the divisions, but if you're looking for experience and a brief lease on a QB I have a name I like: Josh Ehrlich from Susquehanna. I know, it's a massive leap from D-III to the FBS, but you are talking about a redshirt senior who is a...
There is video of him successfully taking on double teams, so while he might shine soloing a guard, he's not incapable of gumming up the works either way.
To give a more complete answer than "yes", he shows the strength to hold up at the point of attack and stop the run while also flashing the athleticism to make plays rushing the QB. He's a bit more upside than stats at this point, but given the defensive staff knows him it makes sense to pay him.
He's hoping for the same thing as Joey Aguilar. Trying to get an additional year of eligibility despite two years at a JUCO and two at Florida. Nice talent, but probably not a great gamble until the needs are all filled. Then you can swing back to that if a blanket waiver gets granted.
If you could get Brungard without becoming the first case of an NCAA team getting hammered for tampering, that's basically like adding a QB and a RB at the same time. I can't imagine Youngstown State wouldn't make quite the stink about that though.
I tend to agree here. We aren't shopping for a surefire starter at this point. We're trying to find the best option of what's available or can reasonably be convinced to hit the portal in a matter of three and a half days, with a day and a half during a dead period. "He's too small and his arm...
I don't think anyone is an idiot. I think people are worked up and throwing names at the wall hoping one sticks.
If at all helpful, I think the two most viable FCS options are Walter Payton Award winner Beau Brungard and runner up Taron Dickens. Dickens is in the portal and available right now...
Neat. Glad they have an opinion. Can't imagine why I don't listen to or pay for them though...probably something to do with having the ability to form my own and not needing talking heads to tell me how I should think or feel.
