I don't think Burg sets the league on fire, but in terms of what this team needed and his skill set, this seems like a great pickup that raises the bar for what this team can achieve.
Literally every team with a returning starter or highly ranked recruit coming in has to worry about transfers and depth. We are no different except we have higher ranked players than most. I’m sure Merck or GMac may look around but it probably will be after next years competition plays out.
Hard to get too excited about high school recruiting anymore. Few freshman are really ready to contribute at this level and so many transfer, the idea of developing your roster over time has been replaced by robbing the mid majors of their best players and starting over from year to year.
Ament is the shiny Lamborghini you hope has retained its value after the first year. Gillespie is the Toyota Land Cruiser. It has been around long enough to know what you are getting and super reliable.
Carey is a Ford Super Duty. If its running well, it can get the job done but doesn't always...
The appeal will have to be based on some finding based on the argument presented for this case. Bringing up a new set of facts or arguments will not likely be considered in an appeal.
Just saw an advertisement for the TBT tournament. James Madison, Vermont and Louisiana Tech have teams but Tennessee can't get one together?

I agree but the whole concept of a true student athlete or amateur college sports has already been lost at the Power 5 level. Too much money at play. It has lessened the appeal for me, but come fall when Tn plays Alabama I will get pulled back in.
Good points but NIL money from a power 5 school would trump overseas money in a lot of cases. Tennessee has 4 players this year that could potentially fit that bill. I tihnk there are more than you might think.
I really hope this works out for ZZ and UT but I fear it will be like the Albert Osuna situation for the baseball team. All NCAA needs to do is drag their feet and the time will run out for this season. Then it allows them to do a fresh stat for the next season for the 5 years plan.
If ZZ is...
Thanks. Truth hurts sometimes.
Love the melt down on Ruppp Rafters how ZZ and UT are ruining college athletics by seeking a 5th year. Like the mercenary one year player concept Kentucky perfected is great for college sports.
