Rosters are limited to 12 players, but not all teams carry that many; there is also a salary cap. Players like Sydney Colson and Karlie Samuelson frequently get cut in the preseason, but generally end up on a roster somewhere. It's very hard for a rookie to make a roster, and even harder to stick.

Muhl played for a professional team, but obviously retained amateur status. I believe that players can be reimbursed for certain expenses by their clubs and remain amateurs, as long as they're not paid a salary. Now, in the NIL era, probably have to go to Division 2 to get real amateurs.

One reason UConn fans are "salty" about Lower Carolina is that they expected to get Boston, and not entirely without reason. When she was in high school, she attended a number of UConn home games, sitting right behind UConn's bench.

I'm old school, or maybe just old. Personal grooming is a matter of choice I won't comment on, but the uniform is called that for a reason. You chose to wear the uniform, wear it the way it was designed to be worn. The "diaper look" speaks too much of "look at me".

Best seats for 80+ with knee pain? Realistically? A comfortable recliner at home. Ask me how I know.

Double digit losses? Do you mean lose games by double digits, or lose ten or more games? If the latter, and you care to make a small wager, I'd be happy to oblige you. They still have some pretty fair players. As to what he was going for with his assistants, try loyalty on his part. No one here...

Unfortunately, they will. As someone on that other forum posted, half the crowd will be Uconn fans, and the other half Paige Bueckers fans. Her high school is practically in Minneapolis.

McGraw and Staley on Uconn bias

Sour grapes. McGraw doesn't like male coaches in women's basketball. She admitted that herself. She's not alone in that regard. Her last male assistant was in 2012, I believe. Had a token male as video coordinator or in some other minor role occasionally since. I suspect that having to play...

Phenomenal take indeed. But Uconn plays Oregon and South Carolina in January, and UT in February. Auriemma is well aware that a non-competitive conference schedule is not the best way to prepare for the NCAAs.

Three so far anonymous people are claiming a new record for the "Cannonball Run". 26 hours, 38 minutes, and 41 seconds from midtown Manhattan to Redondo Beach, CA. An average speed of about 107 MPH, corona virus aided. There is some discussion about whether or not this is the proper time to do it.

    Westbrook surgery

Well, it does raise the question why she played hurt here for two years. Couldn't (shouldn't) she have had the surgery at UT? It's difficult to "play harder" when you're hurt.

Lady Vol Fans Rooting for UCONN?

If someone other than UConn or UCF wins their tournament, it could mean another at large bid gone. Not entirely outside the realm of possibility with no Samuelson.
