1. Alabama football fans (see: Finebaum show)
2. Kentucky basketball fans (pretty much the same as Alabama football fans but in a different season)
3. Florida fans (actually worse than bammers when they're playing in Neyland)
We're probably overhyping the freshmen (we're college football fans, it's what we do) but even without them a lineup of Barnett, O'Brien, Williams, and Vereen/Maggitt with actual depth behind them is good enough to cause some serious damage.
It's mostly just going to be that the guys are a year older, stronger, and more experienced. I don't think they'll be the strength of the team but they won't be a glaring weakness like this season either.
This is a key point. If we're rated top 5 that means we're recruiting the same level of talent as the best programs in the country and should be expected to compete with them on the field.
Also before people get too down on being ranked below other SEC teams, remember that our on the field...
If the right side of our offensive line had been even decent we were good enough to hang with Oklahoma, should they show marked improvement I believe that will be true vs any team on our schedule.
So I know it was Utah State, but when was the last time we saw our defensive front just own someone like that? They were active, aggressive, and dictated the entire game. Perhaps the most impressive part to me was the discipline while being that aggressive, I saw a couple of sacks/TFLs that came...
I can see it happening if enough teams lose, much like 2012 before the Florida game when we got briefly ranked leading into Gameday. The media would certainly like for UT-Oklahoma to be a matchup of ranked teams as there is a dearth of good games week three.
Execution in the screen game is much improved, two of those flanker screens to Josh Smith lead him beautifully down the field.
The offensive line looks kind of how I expected, they actually got some decent push but were slow getting into their blocks. I suspect it's the mental part of the...
People have been speculating that we limited the plays called in the run game and I think that may be true to some extent. For example, I don't recall once seeing our trap play with the TE coming across the back of the line to "wham" block the backside DE and open up a cutback lane.
That...
64.9 isn't terrible, it would have been good for 9th in the NFL last year.
EDIT: Would have been tied for 52nd in FBS last season. Also I agree that it's a silly stat.
I agree, this is my one real concern at the moment. Butch was saying after the game that the biggest jump for a team is between week 1 and 2 so let's hope the offensive line looks much better next week.

Here's a link to the drive, it should start right before a big completion. Heck of a play by North then we were able to execute the up-tempo run game to perfection, even getting substitutions in there super...
I rewatched it again yesterday to get psyched up for the season (like I needed the help). That drive you're referring to was the best our offense looked all season, there was a long pass play for a first down then we hammered them with 3-4 quick runs for the TD. My hunch is that's what Butch and...
