'14 AL DE Cory Thomas (Now the enemy)

Not buying Thomas is "afraid of competition". The better the comp the better the player (and his development). Or that he may become a "numbers casualty". If he's a casualty of anything it will be academics, still needs to complete portions of the State Grad Exam to ensure eligibility. From...

    Most Fascinating Stat for 2013

Turning a negative into a positive nice, Rifleman. The stats though good do not surprise given our ineffective passing gm. Further, they would have been better if not for the times we prematurely abandoned the run gm to press the passing gm.

'13 VA RB Derrick Green (Michigan commit)

5'11 240 is pretty stout even for Big Ten standards. He should drop back to 220-225, IMO

'14 TN RB Jalen Hurd (UT commit 3/14/13)

He's 1-1, his fumble Sat, this yr., 3-2 in '12 and 3-2 in '11. The concern is what the stats do not show, the close-calls. The issue lies in his style / the way he carries the 'ball in traffic (both in practice and gms) and it has gotten him in trouble / "dog house". Graham worked with him as...

'14 TN RB Jalen Hurd (UT commit 3/14/13)

Hurd is an EE. He a Lane would be a nice rotation. Fresh legs. Lane needs to work on 'ball security.

I think FSU is done @ LB. Plus already having 24 committed.

    Bajakian

Attrition, Depth, Lack of continuity (staff turnover) and Schedule all key contributing factors. Talent is not where it needs to be but neither are we as bad as stats and record indicate. Overall Scheme, in-game adjustments and player development are concerning. Going into the season I...

    Cutcliffe's record at Duke makes

I think some may be confusing Cut (who is a better recruiter than many here give credit) with Chavis. From the earl-mid 90's through to 1999 the talent Tennessee signed was spearheaded by Fulmer, Cut and Garner. If he had replaced Fulmer as HC and made the right hire at DC this team would...

For those throwing the DB's under the bus...

Good post. Lack of depth (not just DLine) cannot be overstated.

For those throwing the DB's under the bus...

Yep. On run plays the DLine should maintain formation and spacing. If the DLine is pushed back, goes around the O player or loses containment it opens gaps allowing OLine to penetrate and engage our LB's.

'14 TN OL/DL Charles Mosley (UT Signee 2/5/14)

I believe he'll announce on or shortly after Dec 13.

    Azzanni on Pig Howard

It takes too long develop. Need to keep plays short and sweet.

    Azzanni on Pig Howard

Showed glimpses vs. Georgia of how special he can be in space. Recall vs. Georgia one pass where twice he made a move, changing direction leaving Georgia players grabbing air.
