What if guys play better defense under Rick Barnes because he coaches it so well and demands it if you want to play? What if Lanier, Igor, etc. are coming to UT in part to get better on defense, as Knecht did? I don’t think Barnes is going after these guys if he doesn’t expect them to play...

A) Lanier doesn’t have to beat out both Gainey and Mashack. He has to beat out one of them. He and another can play the other wing spot. Exactly. I would pencil Lanier in as a starter before Okpara. In fact, if we get the transfers we’re hoping, Okpara might be the least likely to start. Igor and Lanier would be most likely, IMO.

DJ redshirted his freshman year. The others didn’t play significant minutes, other than JP, who had to play when Aidoo melted down. No one is suggesting that BB won’t play at all. Just that he won’t be a part of the regular rotation for significant minutes…like Carr, JP, and Phillips this year.

Of the RBs on UT's board, this is the one I like most. He's got some coachable things he could clean up, but his top end speed is really impressive for a guy that big.

I think that can be fixed and Barnes is known as a shot doctor. Eliminating the extra movement at the beginning is easy if what follows is sound. And it is.

Simply not true. This kid was going to be a big part of the 2025 DL.

Offers and commitable offers aren’t the same. I’m not saying those offers weren’t committable but we don’t know that they were either.

I think Sanders has a more extended timeline though. Lagonza is probably committing soon. But man, if Sanders would go ahead and pop for Tennessee, that could really provide momentum with some others.
