Could be but I think its only reasonable that a new HC could pick his own staff to include OC and DC. I wouldn't blame any coach for balking if his new staff is being dictated to him.

He could give the OC the option to come with him. He was with Pedersen at Boise ST and Washington other than this year as QB coach for the Atlanta Falcons. Longshot that Pedersen comes but he would definitely be a home run hire. JMO no sources.

The big concern I have is can he put a staff together that will recruit at the top levels of the SEC. If he recruits at Dooley's level or below it will be very difficult to compete for SEC championships regardless of how much players are coached up. Without the players, it is almost impossible...

This early in the process I will give Jones the benefit of the doubt that he realizes just how critical recruiting at the highest levels is to competing at the top of the SEC. I just hope he is not overestimating the recruiting prowess of his Cinnci staff when they are forced to go head to head...

Not on you but I strongly feel this type of "support no matter what" type thinking has led to the revolving door of UT Presidents/Chancellors. Its also led to Hamilton being around as long as he was and now Hart. Some REAL changes need to be made in the UT administration.

What makes anyone believe Hart really gives a flip about UT. His total connection to the program is about 1 year. He will get a nice fat retirement package.

If he is lauding Hart for going on his own against the wishes of the old $$$ boosters that is a revelation. It sounds like Hart is aiming for a very fat early retirement package. Unbelievable.
