Kiffin has a plan to stop fake injuries

The problem isn't just getting a helmet-in-hand defensive replacement on the field. It's recognizing the situation, getting a player in pain off the field and then getting a replacement on the field in 10 seconds or less. It sounds like you're saying if we don't change the rules in favor of...

Kiffin has a plan to stop fake injuries

I disagree. As I said, many players in pain are able to come back into a game quickly. We just don't notice because they left under their own power and are assessed on the sideline. It's better to give both sides the option to substitute freely than to create a new rule that unilaterally...

Kiffin has a plan to stop fake injuries

Players get hurt or are having pain multiple times during a game, but most of them can make it off the field under their own power. Another player checks in and the game goes on, while the player with pain gets checked out on the sideline, taped/retaped, cramps massaged, etc. Many, probably...

"Ed Orgeron will not visit Bryant-Denny again"

I don't have an opinion on Gruden's merits as a college head coach, but even in a hypersensitive world I'm not sure the baggage from last week should carry much weight in that discussion. Football coaches are some of the most irascible and foul mouthed people you'll find. If Gruden is...

    Hey Kentucky

I was pretty impressed with Nix. Georgia put him under a lot of pressure and he made a lot of really good passes. He put several throws perfectly in tight windows. Receivers let him down. He's wrong about getting a bad break from the officiating though. If it wasn't for uncalled holding...

I know I'm old fashioned, mainly because I'm old, but I have a hard time betting the over at 80+ points in a game betweeen two SEC teams. Even when we saw a game last weekend with over 100 points, I still find it strange to expect those kind of scores.

That's the first rule of football message board club. Never talk about why you lost, just why you should have won.

    Hey Kentucky

I never trust what my eyes have seen at the halfway point of a season. Too many offenses or defenses look dominant, and then they have attrition or they play somebody really good, or both, and their weaknesses are revealed. Georgia is hurting in the secondary but we haven't faced a good...

    Hey Kentucky

I'm more worried about coverage of receivers by our secondary than I am a mobile qb. Too much inexperience and too little depth back there. If the secondary can do a decent job in coverage, I believe the defensive front is mobile enough to limit the damage from a mobile qb to an acceptable level.

    Hey Kentucky

I agree, but he also needs some of those receivers to get healthy. To some extent, Bennett can loosen up a defense with his mobility. Daniels is a better passer and is very good at reading the defense and finding an open man, but he needs more guys who can get open and make a catch than we had...

    Hey Kentucky

If the Dawgs don't get over this injury bug, somebody (or somebodies) will. I'm glad some of our deep roster backups are getting the job done, but soon or later teams will be able to take advantage. And I love what Stetson Bennett has done, but I think we're gonna need JT Daniels back to have...

'21 Recruiting Forum: Official South Carolina Pregame/Game Thread

Just watched the Troy USC game for kicks on youtube (living it up on Friday night) and I can't see much of anything that South Carolina does well. They actually have decent talent, so I'm thinking that conventional wisdom was right. Beamer may grow into the job if he lasts a few years, but...

I like half vodka, fill the rest with equal parts Pom (pomegranate juice) and OJ, with a healthy splash of lemon juice (best if fresh squeezed) on top, and stir. For those who like their drinks on the sweet side, skip the lemon juice and maybe add a little Malibu rum.

At this point in a season, I can never draw firm conclusions about anything; too few data points and too many weak opponents for every team. So far this season Georgia's had a 50/50 game, 3 home games and Vanderbilt with a heavy Georgia crowd (wouldn't matter either way for Vandy). Those crowd...

Ha, you're wrong! I never "admit" anything about football because that would require me to "know" something to admit.
