Alright i can see what you are saying but I feel its the right choice at this point given the team this year. Need somebody that dosent get rattled and can get the offense lined up and make the correct reads.
I dont want CBJ giving anybody the job, I want him awarding the job to the person who has earned it throughout the spring, summer, and fall. If that happens to be Dobbs then so be it, but if not the guy who as earned it should be leading this team come Aug 31. Go Vols:rock::rock:
Thats where the staff benefits in recruiting speed, speed, and more speed and then depends on their coaching abilities to coach these prospects up. Gonna be tough to go over the top of our defense now and should allow us to bring the safeties closer to the line of scrimmage and play more...
Maybe not top 5 but id say its a safe bet to end up in the top 10 on Rivals at least and thats with giving a scholarship to a long snapper and punter. The one thing i like about Butch is that he sticks to his system and finds recruits that fit his system and also fills position of need.
Essentially you cant just go by average star ranking for a recruiting class on rivals because...
1) They only take the top 20 recruits for each team
2) Every three, four, and five star are weighted for different points depending on where they finish in the top 250. EX. The number 1 overall...
I agree with the majority of y'all that Dobbs looked the best of the day but keep in mind that he went up against the second string defense for most of the day... Not his fault, he made the most of his opportunity. I just wonder how he would have faired against the 1's for the day. Now ferguson...
A lot of y'all overlook the fact that Dobbs and Peterman went up against the 2nd string defense which looked pretty awful. Ferguson did have a bad day but how much better would Dobbs have looked against the 1's??? IMO Worley still gets the starting job because he manages the offense better and...
The NBA does allow a zone because the Mavericks used this against LeBron and the heat three years ago in the finals. The reason you cant use this much at all in the NBA is because there are to many good three point shooters that will shoot you out of it really quick.
All i know is that for the first time in awhile i am optimistic that our cornerbacks have the speed and ability to cover SEC wide receivers and not make me cringe on every single pass play. I am excited about the depth, although young, for this upcoming year. I also tend to agree with Breakerboy...
