That’s pretty pathetic. Players themselves know when they just don’t have it on a particular day, and they will acknowledge that. I think Elander let his whole team down with this decision. I think privately Krenzel would agree.

The good thing about this Vol team is that we’re playing good defense and holding baserunners well. Pitching could end up being very good. Get the bats going and this team could be one of the few left standing in the end.
I don’t think most were downplaying their transfers. Most were not saying they were “no big deal” in terms of losses. Both of these guys were total surprises to Barnes, and there was nothing else that could have been done to retain them.
