Dobbs is also the king of screen passes. His completion percentage should always be considered with proper context. Also why his TD/INT ratio is so low. A WR can turn a screen into a 90 yard TD, but you have to really screw up to get picked on the shorter passes compared to the long to mid ones.
Dobbs is a gamer, he is a really good athlete, and he is a really good runner... but he is not a really good QB. It might be argued that he isn't a good QB.
And we could be even more impressive if we didn't run out of the formations that we do. IMHO, of course. The one-back delayed crap we do is a hindrance.
Two years ago UT was coached by one of the most incompetent people ever to run a major program. Improvement was pretty much going to happen. Any mediocre coach could have been 8-4 this year with the east as weak as it is. He doesn't deserve a raise and certainly not an extension.
One of the biggest issues with this game that I have is that the defense let the other team march down the field late with the game on the line. They have done this multiple times this year. Sheer luck saved the game, and saved UT from the embarrassment of another blown loss.
Yep, and when teams consistently can't get the wins and barely get wins against mediocre teams they aren't considered good teams with good coaching staffs.
Bama fans that have any sense about them aren't holding last night's game up as any sign of doing well. The loss of Chubb was devastating. You're silly if you think that it wasn't and that it doesn't make that win less impressive.
And that one win you speak of that worth a damn was against an overrated UGA team that lost their very best player on the first play of the game. It also took a miracle punt bounce to keep UGA out of the end zone on the last drive, otherwise it would have been another choke-job.
