You mean like how if someone argues in any way positive for UT or against Pearl, they're a Martin lover?
If he cared about the Vols at all he would have had auburn make this announcement after our game not the day before it and get our fan even more separated.
What an epic failure of a thread. Considering the OP, it's not at all surprising.
The reason Bruce is at Auburn and not Tennessee is Bruce.
Move on.
We don't wanna move on. It's time for UT to grieve the loss of their one chance at basketball greatness. Pearl had faults (oh no, barbecuegate) but his charisma and ability to motivate teams made him the ideal coach to build the program. He will beat UT like a drum.
I would think Auburn would have a hefty buy out clause in contract to make it very expensive for Bruce to leave Auburn for TN.
I am sure this deal will be nothing like the deal Hamilton did with Kiffin.
Had Pearl only told the truth and not tried to cover it up this would be a non issue and he would still be the coach at Tennessee
I mean, come on, he led a Vols team to within one basket of the Final Four. And we let him get away. Hart should have made a post-suspension deal with Pearl. The powers that be let UT's chance at being a basketball school ... get away. I hope BP kills it at Auburn.
And of course there is NO OTHER COACH IN THE WORLD that can coach at Tennessee and win.
And I clicked on that damn like button by mistake, I need to make sure what I am clicking.
Dumber than Pringles
All, that is, except for Dave Hart and the UT administration who didn't want to see this kind of fun, frivolity and excitement associated with their basketball program.
Fast forward 16 months and everything has changed -- Auburn now has Gus Malzahn installed in football and today they added Bruce Pearl in basketball. In just sixteen months Auburn has gone from having two of the worst head coaches in college athletics to having the best.
Meanwhile pity poor Tennessee, the most snakebit program in major college athletics ever since Phil Fulmer was fired. Basically, if something can go wrong, it will go wrong with Tennessee athletics. I halfway expect for Butch Jones to get electrocuted using his microphone during spring practice. If General Neyland came back to life tomorrow, Mississippi State would find a way to hire him as football coach while Tennessee somehow found a way to rehire Derek Dooley.
