Hart has failed (again)

Clueless:crazy:

The following 2 things have happened to Bruce Pearl.

He was blackballed from D-1 programs after the Deon Thomas scandal.

He was fired from U.T. for lying to the NCAA and received a 3 year show cause from the NCAA.

How many years of coaching has Bruce Pearl lost in his career because of his unethical behavior?

There is no failure here we are in the big dance. Auburn cannot say that. The basketball team made it past the opening day of the made it past the first day of the SEC tourneys. There is person in control of the AD department. The negavols cannot stand the idea that we have new leader and he is not going to jump after everything that is out there. The mess Hammy left is not funny and anyone who backs UT should be embarrass from allow that to happen in the first place. When last time is can be said we have the Men’s BB team in the big dance and a ranked Baseball team. Any way we are on the way up is under Hearts decisions and he is not going to ask any of these so called fans that have the SKY IS FALLING SYNDROMES. Bottom line no matter how much we wanted Bruce back there was no vacant position to hire Bruce to anyway. Pass be another glass of that Kool aide I am thirsty!!!!!

As far as I can tell Tennessee has a basketball coach that has led the team to the NCAA tournament.

Not sure why they need a new coach

:lolabove:

People are riding the hell out of that South Carolina win.

They beat the eventual #4 team in the country. Not a bad win. Could he have done better? Probably.

Most people expected 5-7 before the season started, but I don't think many of us expected a win over a top 5 team.

And that's different from other coaches how? At one point people thought Saban was going to Texas last year.

Ummm, that was the point, that Pearl was no different than other coaches. The original point was made to those that actually thought Pearl had some sort of diehard loyalty to UT; especially acting like UT dropped the ball somehow and "let" Pearl go to Auburn.

Ah, sorry about that then. Yeah, sadly, every coach in the NCAA probably has agents on a 24 hr lookout for better paying gigs. Not much loyalty left anymore in the world of college athletics. Money is king.

pearl was never in a position to return. the book is closed. move along volnation

Yeah, why would we want to return excitement to the program and fill the stands? The years after pearls departure have been so exceptional. Why would anyone want that back?

(I think it's been great that we've had "Gruden-lite" this offseason with the basketball team).

Hart has failed again.

First, he allowed Bruce to go to a rival. Second, he failed, as with the Gruden rumors, to put the kibosh on the possibility of Bruce coming back home this year.

He would have sat on his hands with Dooley except for the colossal failure to find Rommel. He is sitting on his hands with Cuonzo now. He has articulated no vision for the program.

The only good news is I like our chances of bringing back Bruce next year if we have the season we expect next year. I should say "would" like our chances except for the dynamic duo of Hart & Cheek.

Nothing against Cuonzo. Cuonzo >> Dooley. However, we had the basketball Gruden equivalent in Knoxville (possibly >> Gruden), and the AD has to date seemingly done nothing (again).

You like our chances of bringing back Bruce next year. :eek:lol: Let it go people. Bruce has moved on and so should you. Bruce was never going to be basketball coach at Tennessee again.. You will get to see him next year when he brings Auburn to TBA and beats the Vols. I just think there will be a lot of empty seats next year at TBA.

Yes, firing Martin was the decision to make. We should have fired him right after we pounded Missouri. That way we could have HOPED to have landed Bruce. Had we not, I'm sure any coach would love the thought of coaching at a place where they fire their coach on the way to the NCAA Tourney.

Enough crying. He was never coming back. Thanks for what you did for us Bruce. Time to move on.

Cuonzo is still learning how to coach at this level. I think he is getting better, and I hope he has great success here.

Support our boys. That's what matters most. Go Vols. Beat Iowa.

I support the team, but I want CCM out of here asap.

Yes, I recall, but that was before. Bruce will want redemption not against Martin, but rather Cheek for firing him in the first place, and Martin won't be able to do anything about it. Except stand there with that clueless look on his face that we have all see too many times before.

The same clueless look he had when he beat Billy Donovan the first 3 times? That scrub Donovan will never compare to Bruce and his loaded Auburn squad.

Bruce Pearl was a special situation which required some special acumen from the AD.

Anyone denying that should put down the crack pipe.

Hart sat on his hands.

I disagree with the OP, but I'm still pretty annoyed about the whole situation. Basically, CCM waits until the zero hour to do just enough to save his job with the best roster he's going to have as the coach of UT. There was no way Hart could make a play for Pearl given the situation (NCAA tourney game to play). I hate that Pearl is going to another SEC program, but I really hate that CCM's firing will be an absolute no brainer next season when they're not even on the bubble.

Good luck with that.
