Hart has failed (again)

I don't know why no one mentions that his agents were out looking for new gigs all during his time at UT.

Obviously people have misunderstood my post. I responded to a post that suggested "if Bruce cared about..."

There was really no reason for Pearl to have any loyalty to a school that fired him, right? He doesn't owe Tennessee fans a thing.

And that's your problem, not his. He never said he was going to. What situations you create in your head he has no control over, nor any responsibility to even entertain.

Exactly.

He has sat on his hands (again) despite a fan uprising (the petition), despite the special circumstances of the Bruce Pearl situation, despite another underachieving performance from Cuonzo's best team.

How was Dave Hart gonna hire Bruce Pearl when Hart's boss wasn't going to hire Pearl anyways?

LOL, fan uprising. You guys still put way too much into a petition of 36,000. For it to have anywhere close to the impact you act like it should, it would have to be well over 100K, and even then it probably wouldn't factor in much.

Again, because he didn't meet YOUR perceptions isn't on him, it's on you.

A fan uprising?

TBA looked pretty full on the replay I watched against Mizzou.

I can't fathom how people have been enjoying this "gruden-lite" scenario this basketball season. Just goes to show how conditioned our fan base has been to accept coaching changes to the point of lusting after it. I understand that it creates drama, and people love drama. But all it does is hinder the success of the program.

Secondly, why would the AD perpetuate the drama by even addressing the #BBB rumors? Validating the rumors by publicly addressing them, even if the AD shot down the possibility, would've created even more of an uproar.

so true.

So if we lose to Iowa, and are one and done, who does Hart replace Cuonzo Martin with? Gregg Marshall anyone?

This. The victim syndrome that we have attributed to Bruce Pearl is unfathomable.

He is going to march down to the Plains today and fill them with the same line of BS (destination job, AU gave me a chance, I love AU, this is my home) that he fed us starting 9 years ago.

He is a salesman, and a really good one. If anyone really believed he was as pro-Tennessee as he portrayed, then you bought his pitch, hook, line, & sinker.

Bruce Pearl is looking out for Bruce Pearl, and he now has a new fanbase to fleece. I wish he had never left, but he is solely to blame for that. He isn't a victim of anything but himself.

The only "fleecing" that has been done was with Kiffin, Dooley and, so far, Cupnzo.

Bruce may be a helluva salesman but he actually delivered on his sales pitch.

(I think it's been great that we've had "Gruden-lite" this offseason with the basketball team).

Hart has failed again.

First, he allowed Bruce to go to a rival. Second, he failed, as with the Gruden rumors, to put the kibosh on the possibility of Bruce coming back home this year.

He would have sat on his hands with Dooley except for the colossal failure to find Rommel. He is sitting on his hands with Cuonzo now. He has articulated no vision for the program.

The only good news is I like our chances of bringing back Bruce next year if we have the season we expect next year. I should say "would" like our chances except for the dynamic duo of Hart & Cheek.

Nothing against Cuonzo. Cuonzo >> Dooley. However, we had the basketball Gruden equivalent in Knoxville (possibly >> Gruden), and the AD has to date seemingly done nothing (again).

I'm proud of you guys. No likes for the OP. Improving.

Your argument is a petition? :eek:lol::eek:lol::good!::eek:lol::eek:lol:

You know, Bama fans started a petition saying the Auburn player stepped OB! That's how easy a petition can get started. They're worthless!

Didn't that petition get more signatures too?

What were all these gigs again? Memphis is the only one that comes to mind.

And here is a newsflash...agents are supposed to work angles to get raises or better jobs for their clients.

Arizona and the Washington Wizards are two others that come to mind.

Bruce Pearl fleeced the fans re: Kiffin, Dooley, and Cuonzo? News to me.

Stick to the relevant facts. I agree he delivered on his sales pitch on the court. I was referencing his sales pitch off the court to the thousands who actually believed he was sincere in what he said.
