Tennessee defenders didn't want to tackle Auburn backs last year either so I'm not exactly sure if this is supposed to be a positive or what....

:hi:

Are you seriously this sad that you go out of your way to post sh** like this on a UT message board? Honestly, why do you care what we think? You're opinions clearly differ from almost every person on this board. Find a hobby, or make a friend or two.

Lol Auburn was the luckiest team OAT... I like Gus M, but GTFO with that nonsense guy. They won't be as fortunate this time around

Worley compared Hurd's moves today to CP in his interview. I'll be honest, I didn't realize Hurd was shifty, in addition to being enormous and fast. I'm really trying to have reasonable expectations, but my goodness these practice reports are fun.

He's really pretty funny...if you put it in the context of the kid in your neighborhood who creates, decorates and consumes mudpies. :)

Good advice Wu. From the looks of his posts, I think he'd find it easier to find the hobby.

Remember how hard it was for people to take this man down at full speed? Hurd is the same way. One thing is different between McFadden and Hurd. Hurd is faster!

Maybe the worst comparison ever. Lol it's not quite that bad but they have very different running styles IMO. McFadden could run between the tackles and lower his shoulder on occasion but he mostly relied on his speed to beat defenders. Jalen does not shy away from contact in the least, I think he would rather run you over than juke you out if he had the choice. Not to say that he can't/doesn't use his speed to beat defenders and the dude can fly for a guy his size. Also, McFadden has some of the skinniest legs that I've ever seen from and SEC RB. Whereas Hurd has tree trunks for legs. I think the only way that they are really similar is that they are both tall for the position and can fly. JMO

I actually found it to be pretty decent. 6'2 218 vs 6'3 221. Both have power and speed. Slashers. I hope Jalen is as good as RunDMC was at Arkansas.

I went back and edited to add this as why I don't think it's a good comparison:

Wouldn't agree with that. Not a bad one. I have always seen Eddie George in him. Very similar guys at that age

Respectfully disagree. Only similarity I see with Eddie is his height. Eddie was a slower, plodding 3 yd and a cloud of dust RB IMO. From all accounts Jalen seems to be a more fluid, "quicker twitch" athlete with more speed and quickness. Guess we'll see.

i will probably be blasted even more than the guy who made the mcfadden comparison but i see hurd as josh gordon if he played rb. both are almost the same size seeing as gordon is 6'3 225 and have similar speed and explosion and seem to be built similarly.

He wasn't in HS, college, or early NFL years. Your thinking of end of career Eddie. Eddie was a monster in college

I admit really only remembering his performance vs UT in the '96 Citrus Bowl prior to his NFL days. I was thoroughly unimpressed that day, much like I was for the majority of his NFL career. He always struck me as slow and plodding at the line of scrimmage, oftentimes getting chopped down rather easily by a cornerback coming off the edge. He could do some damage once he got to the second level, but that was a rare occurrence.

I prefer a guy with great explosion and vision, hitting holes with some urgency and violence. I think and hope Jalen's that guy. Rarely if ever saw that from George. Just my opinion.
