had some friends over and polished off a few near-empties of four roses single barrel. jefferson's chef's collaboration, and some old granddad 114. time to restock the bar

How's the chef's collaboration?

The Four Roses single barrel is really good in barrel proof if you can find it.

McScrooges almost always has the 12 year in stock. Had plenty of it this evening when I was there.

It's not bad. Not my favorite rye blend. The rye is kind of subdued.

The Four Roses was an old bottle of 2011 barrel proof.

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof. Most stores got a couple of bottles, McScrooges got 40.

Elijah Craig Barrel Proof is awesome btw.

Also have the best scotch collection in the south.

I went out tonight with the intent to try some Gentleman Jack ... but for 2/3 the price, I found another TN whiskey, and just got George D 8-yr.

Update: Shoulda got the GJ; the GD8 is kinda meh. :hmm:

If you are ever in the Caribbean you can find gentleman for about $20/liter duty free

My scotch journey continues. Having Nectar D'Or for the first time tonight and enjoying very much. I have yet to try the smoky Islay scotches, but am anxious to try those next. Thinking Laphroaig or Talisker - I enjoy smoky wines very much and have a feeling the smoky scotches will end up as favorites.

Islay is my favorite region by far. Most of my collection is Islay. I love all of them. This is by far my favorite...
