Jones Comments on 2014 Spring Game

I think they need to do something more than a subdued scrimmage to get 85-90k. Even if it's some cheesy events like player races, WRs running hail mary routes, QB throwing competitions.... 4 quarters of super vanilla football just won't get me to drive 3+ hours.

Passing out beers on the way in would help...

Spring game has been free in the past, don't feel that will change. Go early and get to meet players and coaches before game right on the field. Fun and a great time for kids

The one time I went they charged $5 for Kiffys one and done.

I seriously doubt Hurd will be playing in the O&W game. They will be cautious with his shoulder IMO. They need him 100% and ready to go by game 1.

His shoulder has had a good while to heal up though and unless I'm mistaken didn't vol74 say he was good to go by then. Not being a Richard head I just was hoping to see him tote the rock.

$i hot dogs +$1 beer(draft)= 102k.

I know this is off topic but rather amusing as I remember it. I had a friend in Nashville years ago who served during the Korean War. He said the night before they were to go home, they allowed the soldiers to have a party. William said they had hot dogs and draft beer. He said the next morning he threw up until it was coming out of his nose. He also said, and I quote, "I thought my brains were coming out of my head" he had such a severe headache. He was a good dude. Go Vols!

The 1986 media guide says the 73,801 fans who attended the 1986 Orange-and-White Game was a Guinness record for an intrasquad scrimmage. Any idea what the record is now, and if there is a chance for Neyland to break it?

I think bummer holds the "record" now, but we all know how they count down there!

O&W should very interesting. This will our first time to see Ferguson in a competitive environment. I expect the crowd to be at least 85K+ if the weather is good. I bet there will a ton of scouts checking out the new EE kids. I think everyone will want to gauge just how much the athleticism has improved.

Good Lord willing, I'll be there again. I love Tennessee football and this is plenty of that, with a good outcome at the end. You see something positive out of some new kids every year at the O&W. And every Spring, some player is deemed most improved on O, and someone on D.

Hello fellow vol behind enemy lines. We plan to come up from Daphne...Always good to get back to the mountains when possible!

Living in Mobile, too. I've found one other Vol fan during my seven months here. Can't wait until we start winning again.

I was there last year with a buddy from work, hopefully I can convince my buddy, sister, and brother in law to come this time.

This year will be my 1st O&W game. I can't wait. How early would you recommend to get there for autographs? Can you bring your own merchandise for them to sign? Any info would help. Thanks.
