I feel I should know this guy. What does a 'director of football operations' do?

Pendergrass made $102,000 annually, according to figures released last year.

In his role, Pendergrass was heavily involved in recruiting. His resignation comes two days before National Signing Day.

This guy is a Tennessee alum twice over and has been with the school almost his entire career. Started as a student manager under Phil. I doubt it's something to worry about, but I do wonder what happened here. BTW, DFOs are also very involved with recruiting.

Here is what the website says he does:

Pendergrass' primary role at Tennessee is to oversee the day-to-day administrative operation of the football program in the areas of budgetary management, team travel, pre-season training camp and bowl planning, as well as serving as head coach Butch Jones' liaison to all athletics department support units that assist the football team.
