The Runner's thread

Getting tired of this super cold weather. I feel like I could be running at speeds that would allow me to set some PRs but I am having to back off due to all the ice and what not. Saturday looks like it might be decent. So I may go for broke then!

I'm hoping that tomorrow will be decent. Planning on running tomorrow after work.

5k in 24:04. Should have been somewhere around the 22:30 mark but I ran on a track today and I have a bad habit when I am running on a track of starting out too fast. My first mile was sub 7 min but just went down hill from there. Makes 57 miles for the month. I'll take that as a good start towards my goal.

Good stuff!

I hate running on a track. Then again I have only run on the .03mi indoor track at the YMCA. The Nike Run App isn't very accurate on indoor mode, so I hate that too.

I hate running on a track too but I try to do it every so often to make me appreciate running other places.

Haven't ventured onto this thread in a while. How are you guys? I am just getting back into running again after I injured my achillies and the surrounding tendons playing field hockey last November...

It's not been easy, my fitness level has decreased a ton, so it will be a while before I start losing weight again and being able to run long distances.

Sorry to hear about the injury. It's amazing what happens when you take time off or have to take time off. Even a short amount of time can hurt your fitness level. Good luck and hope you get back to running soon.

3.5 mile trail run with the wife this morning. She took a little spill but seems to be ok. I think she is probably going to be sore for the fall.

Just signed up for a 5k on 2/22. Went running yesterday for the first time since 10/20. Struggled big time to run one mile. I gotta quit taking off from running.

You just have to find your spirit! It will hit you! You just get to running and you don't want to stop, so you just run for miles and miles. Then you look and think about how far your two little legs have carried you, and then you realize how few people on earth can do that.

God I love running. It can be so spiritual at times.
