Personally, I think that Cuonzo is a great coach. However, I think that if Cuonzo got a call from the Big 10 (Purdue... Illinois... etc) that he would return to the area where he grew up playing basketball.
Bruce hasn't left Knoxville. He still is a Black Sheep in many Universities due to his turning over illegal recruiting methods early in his career.
Bruce continues to bleed orange. My question is, when is Bruce Pearl available? Let the countdown begin!
This is quite possibly the most comfy, cozy, inspiring, nostalgic, futuristic, heart-warming, bonerific nook in all of the internet.
This is where true Big Orange fans come to relish in the glory days of high flying, alley ooping, tenacious defensing, big game winning, home game sellouts, and NCAA tourney victories annually.
So here's to you Bruce...it's only a matter of time before EVERYONE realizes how much we want you back in our homes and hearts.
0% Bruce was wrong for what he did, he is not the knight in shinning armor that everyone, or most of everyone on he thinks. CCM needs another year since recruiting in basketball is a long term commitment to the kids you are recruiting, but as we have seen in football IF YOU WANT to screw a program up keep switching coaches...recruits will run when the other coaches question if you are going to play for the coach that is recruiting you.
The fans will avoid TBA as if the plague is inside next year.
The first year it was he has to have at least two years to get his system in place, last year it was "this team is without it's best player" so he needs one more year, this year it has been "Maymon has not been the same" now you want to change the battle cry to "one more year". The time has passed to meet the grade.
No, it's more like he hasn't had time to develop the players he's brought in. You act like he was handed the keys to a Rolls. lol! The Rolls became a Yugo when Hopson and Harris left. Pearl inherited much better in 05-06 imo. Unless you want to argue that Watson, Lofton, Wingate, Smith,Patterson, Asumnu and Bradshaw aren't better than Golden, Maymon, Stokes and McRae- in '11-'12.
Bingo! Basketball is a different animal than football. If you aren't in on them as FR, hug their Mommas's neck, and have some beer and wings with their AAU coach......you in trouble. UT probably could've gotten Austin Nichols and Nick King, but we were WAY to late and that is hardly Cuonzo's fault. Sure, Cuonzo was there in early '11, they committed in late '12, but if you really didn't know them for that year....you lose.
