Would Mizzou have jumped Bama?

I mean, it would have been inexcusable for them not to, but it wouldn't shock me if they didn't.

I thought Bama would have gone but nearly every national expert said mizzu would have gone if they won the SEC title game

Herbstreit and others on ESPN said the week before the SEC Championship game that, yes, Missouri's average was close enough to Alabama's that they would jump them if they beat Auburn for the conference title.

There was a former SEC coach that just went to PSU that used a line like that on recruits. I wonder where Pinkel is going to next year?

The guy's been at Missouri for 13 years and just became their all-time leader in wins…why at this point would he be going anywhere?

Pinkel - "we're on our way to winning a national championship. Do you want to be a part of it?"

Ha ha! I agree. That stuck out to me as well. We are on our way to winning national championships (as long as we continue to play a cream puff out of conference schedule, UGA, UF and UT remain down, and we draw underachieving teams from the west).

Give Mizzou our regular season schedule and they may have five losses. Pretty good chance they lose to Oregon, a healthy Florida, a healthy UGA, Bama and clearly Auburn, IMO.

They were a quality team, but they got help from their schedule.

This weekend Jones will seemingly use his last in-home visit with defensive lineman Dewayne Hendrix and according to a St. Louis TV station, Hendrix went on record to say that he was 100-percent a Vol and that only confirms what we've heard since Sunday night coming out of his official visit to Missouri. Still, Tennessee is taking no chances and will be sending in a good number of assistant coaches when they meet with him. -VQ

Crazy new recruiting tactic thought. Would it be against NCAA rules to have a Tennessee coach rent a home next door to a top recruit? I could see it now. Thig hanging out on his porch everytime said recruit stepped out his front door, "Hey (insert recruit name here), what ya doing"? :eek:lol:

What would it cost? Maybe 2 grand to sign a 3 month lease to secure said commitment/s. Do it in highly rated recruiting grounds and you have an automatic "bump" situation with possibly several recruits. Maybe renting a house next to a school like Norcross HS in GA. Recruit wants to talk UT football, he can ring the UT recruiters doorbell at lunch during the school day. :)

This happened with the recruitment of Marcus Dupree, according to the ESPN 30 for 30.

Lulz.

Hendrix - "There's gonna be no surprises from me on National Signing Day. I'm 100% committed to the University of Tennessee."
