Preemptive Grammys Gay Marriage Thread

I presume you mean:

Romans 1:26-27
1 Corinthians 6:9-10
1 Timothy 1:9-10

The first makes the most clear condemnation of homosexuality by simply calling it "shameful". Doesn't really seem to be that big of a deal, according to the entire New Testament.

I have seen discussions around the root words of the homosexuality references in Corinthians and Timothy. I'm not disputing the scriptures, but I have read studies that argue the translations could be questioned (e.g. soft or cowardly vs. male prostitutes; sexual exploitation (masculine) vs. sodomites). Again, not saying I think this is the case, but interesting nonetheless. Especially with the sparse references in the NT.

28.5 million this year
28.4 million last year

Not all that impressive considering after Whitney Houston's death the show brought in 40 million

If it does, those of us who are Christians have FAILED...

By passing judgement, you've already failed the lofty standards you set for yourself. Let God decide who has and has not sinned. Live your life as you choose and let others do the same. Everything else can be sorted out in the afterlife, if it exists. Spreading hate and intolerance is counterproductive.

Crock of shat.

One, diagreeing with a lifestyle does not equal hate.

Two, everyone is intolerant of something.

The gay mafia has done well as your post proves.

Who said anybody was intolerant? I think homosexuality is quite repulsive but I can get along & coexist with gays. I don't believe in gay marriage but I don't go around protesting it & condemning every gay couple I know. Interpreting the bible for what it is isn't passing judgement but of course some will try to interpret it to fit their agenda.

Considering you'll be hardpressed to find a handful of people to interpret the Bible the same way, I find this statement to be oxymoronic. Interpretation is nothing more than your opinion of what is being said. The moment you interject opinion, you have passed judgement. But feel free to interpret it to fit your agenda.

Is their a Christian mafia as well that feels the need to go around and slap everyone with their Bibles, telling them what they should and should not believe?

I'm sure there is.

Some operate private businesses and are told they must sell to people they don't want to sell to or face fines.

Looks like gay mafia is winning. Sucks for freedom.

Here's a better solution, if you're gay just be an atheist.

Like I said earlier, I am not judging...how can I judge someone who has already been judged? I am simply following the verdict...oh and GOD DID DECIDE IT WAS A SIN...

If you want to defend marriage as a religious institution, fine, take govt out of it and surrender the added benefits "marriage" affords you. If you are unwilling to do so, then it is a right that should be shared by all, be it man/woman, man/man, or woman/woman.

If you can fix that then do it. It can wait until tomorrow though.

So people should also be able to refuse service because of skin color I presume? Seems to be what you're suggesting.

I'm not gay, nor am I an atheist, I just don't feel it productive to try and decide the mortal fate of others. Who am I to tell someone else how to live their life? I have a hard enough time making my own choices. Let others decide for themselves, but give them the equality they're due.

100% yes.

I know, freedom....yikes so scary.

Much better to make people bow and hide their views.

How dare a private business owner get to choose how they operate their business. The "rights" of the person that has no stake in the business trumps. Hallelujah.

Lol. You're all for telling others how to live. Just depends on who the "others" are.

Awesome. I'd be lying if I denied just passing a little judgement on you. But hey, to each their own.
