'14 JUCO WR Lavon Pearson (UT SIGNEE 12/18/13)

whats the name of his qb i think he is from south fullton he looks ike he throws a heck of a deep ball and seems to be pretty moblie i wonder if and where he will be recruited to play

His name is Garmon. I talked to him the other day and he said he Pearson was for real on 1st day of practice when he one-handed a deep ball like it was nothing.

Pearson's size is something that people have been talking about. He's not a little guy at 6-1, 185 pounds and as he told Paul Fortenberry before enrolling at Tennessee, "adding weight and muscle shouldn't be a problem when I start getting to eat three meals a day, and get on a nutrition program." Something they don't have in the junior college ranks. - VQ

I hope that's due to just bad eating habits. If not, that's kinda pitiful.

Get this kid some peanut butter asap.

The Volunteers got 10 touchdowns out of former JUCO Cordarrelle Patterson in 2012, and they are hoping to get similar production out of Pearson in 2014. Pearson is very fluid in his route running, especially for a taller receiver, and he is able to get separation and explode vertically after the catch, making him a big play threat, possibly even more so than (D'haquille) Williams at Auburn.

we have three WRs that will be able to go up and get it and affect the game with the deep ball.
now just need some folks to show out after the catch.

Can't wait to see what this young man can do on the field at the spring game. I this offense if actually going to be a little better than last year especially on skill players.

My (not so) bold prediction is that if we find a decent QB to start, this kid will only be here one year. He's that good.

My not so bold prediction is if UT gets 2 or 3 WR's to play at an SEC level the QB's will be just fine.

I hope between North, this kid, Smith, Croom, Malone, Pig, Young, Bowles, Johnson, Jenkins, etc... some guys will step up and do that. If not.. you really have to look at coaching. That's ALOT of raw talent to work with.

FWIW, this sentiment parallels Jones' actions. He is recruiting WR's big time... but is apparently satisfied with the QB's he has now. Unless I am mistaken, the only two QB's currently being looked at are projects.

They really wanted McClendon, but he's solid to NCst.
