Question No. 4: Which prospect has been the most debated all year long?

Mike Farrell, National, Mid-Atlantic: "Jalen Hurd. There are some who think he's too upright and not explosive enough to be a five-star running back and others who think he can be a star with Tennessee. But with his injury in Game 1, there was a lot of discussion regarding whether he should drop again with his second big injury in the last year. Time will tell if we made the right decision."

Question No. 4: Which prospect has been the most debated all year long?

Woody Wommack, Southeast: "One guy we really debated all cycle long was running back Jalen Hurd. He put up huge numbers as a junior but was injured and missed almost his entire senior year. The question and debate was really about whether other backs who did it as a senior deserved to pass Hurd in the rankings."

Makes me think of this guy. Tried to find the scene of him chasing shooter down but couldn't find it. Would have had a better visual. So i will just post this one of him threatening shooter.

Farrell has answered EVERY vols recruiting question I have ever asked him on twitter. I dont see anything WRONG with what he said. Its a legitimate question not an analysis. I think volnation is 'butthurt' anytime someone questions anything about our coach or prospects.

"And you can count on me waiting on you in the parking lot!"

MFarrell -

Perhaps the most controversial ranking is Jalen Hurd, who kept his fifth star and came in at No. 33 overall after missing almost all of his senior season due to a shoulder injury. Hurd is an elite back despite being a bit tall and upright and his injury doesn't affect future performance like a knee injury would. Fans keep asking, "How can you keep a kid who missed all of his season due to injury as a five-star?" and the response is, "How can you drop him if the injury won't affect his future at all?" Hurd was a very tough call. It will be very interesting to see how his career pans out as he's a boom or bust guy to me as well.

Hard to see a guy with Hurd's size, speed and overall athleticism being a bust IMO, unless he suffers a catastrophic injury.

What kind of fans ask for any kid to drop ranking due to injury??

Fans of other schools who have a RB commit that isn't a 5 star and they think he should be. It bothers the hell out of UGA fans that Nick Chubb is ranked below Hurd at #35 and just outside the 5 stars.

JMO, Farrell takes a lot of flack on here. But he speaks really positive about UT and actually defends UT for the most part.

Woody Wommack on the other hand....

The biggest issue with that is that several people dropped due to injuries, but Hurd didn't. It's inconsistent, and that's why rivals gets so much flak. Here's there reasoning for dropping Prince.

Q. What made Prince drop 10 spots

A. Other players coming out and performing and moving past him while he was injured.

And the response to that is - nobody performed well enough to move past Hurd even while being injured

IMO. Hurd had the chance to come back and instead he shut it down to be 100%. That's why I think he didn't drop. Recruiting sites respected that decision.
