Well my thinking with Devrin is that he's quick but he lacks that top end speed a KR needs . Quickness is good for a PR though so I have no problem with him there .

My thoughts exactly. I can see him remaining the PR but not the KR. They need someone faster and more explosive to return kickoffs.

I'm with you and kevino on this one. DY is explosive for 20 yards with his quickness and then tends to lose his balance as he wants to go faster than he is capable. But I like him a lot at PR and feel that if he focuses solely on that and the slot he will do even better at both. The longer striders tend to do better as KRs IMO. They have more room to see and make their way through the creases. As a result they can build up top end speed in the first 20 yards or so and do more damage down the field. So hopefully Von and Vic can handle the KRs.

Yes this is true, Vic will be an instant upgrade in the slot.

I don't think Vic starts right away. Remember we have Jenkins who is a really good WR. I believe he will push Pig and get a lot of burn before Vic

:good!: Good post. DY is quick but not a burner. Much better suited as a PR than a KR. I could see him staying at PR. As for KR...put your fastest guys who can field kicks back there and let them do work.

I wouldn't. The only time I would put my star receiver on KR is if the game is on the line......if then. Chances of taking a game/season/career ending hit are much greater on KR. JMO of course.

Malone out shining North as soon as he gets on campus is unlikely.. That being said if he does we are in some dang good shape.

True, and Malone has just played against weak competition, so I'm really just guessing.

I'm not worried at all about our potential at WR, but our QB situation terrifies me though. Pass protection won't be as good next year, so QBs need to make some huge improvements and/or Riley needs to be amazing.

Evan and Vic are definitely the two I want to see back there. They are an immediate upgrade on anyone we have on campus. It's about time we have some explosiveness in the KR game.

Point was between the ears Malone seems better than North coming into college, just not as physically imposing. Not that athleticism doesn't matter.

Ya I think that's why North was able to do so well with our QB situation, he just bullied the defenders well enough. I'm no football expert, but I didn't see unbelievable route running or anything, just physical dominance.

Croom should have been doing the same.

Malone was dominant in the camps this summer going up against top competition...
yes,he played weaker opponents during the year,but showed out against the best also... when you add La'Von,North,Pig,Croom,and Vic to the mix,it makes all of them that much better...good times are coming...SOON
