Is it bad that every time I think of this great moment in UT history it's coupled with anger?

Worst loss in UT history one week later, IMO. Unacceptable.

Stallworth, Henderson, Haynesworth, Washington, Stephens, Witten, and the list goes on.

Coulda, woulda, shoulda I guess.

I agree. That was probably the worse loss I remember in my 50 years as a Vol fan. Might have had more talent that the NC team from three years before and still figured out a way to lose. I couldn't believe it.

As are the A&M games. and the georgia/auburn game from this year.

Can't argue with #1 though, though it is getting some newness. Surprised the UT game wasn't higher based just on AMERICA reasons. (No offense meant there, just saying it usually happens)

I was a student 00-04 frosh, best game I've ever seen live hands down. God I can't wait to get back to those winning days!! GBO!!!

That LSWho loss the next week after we beat Fla in 2001 is the most disappointing loss in 50 yrs of following the Vols! I get mad when I think about it! Complete choke job that cost us the Rose Bowl!! I'm glad the ONE UT game on this list is at least one we won!

Thanks for posting this! I constantly search for old games on cable so I can show my 10 year old son, who only knows Tennessee in defeat, how it used to be. I'm not going to mention what happened vs LSU the next week, but he is likely to ask :(

as a game, i think the 2004 game was a better game.

2001 meant a heck of a lot more.

Thank you for posting this. I remember a gator fan towards the beginning of the game yelling out,"hey porch monkey n*gger, learn how to run with a football and stop stealing bananas." I pointed at him and smiled....the rest is written in the record books...I still am smiling to this day about that.

Was at the 2001 game in Gainsville with my Dad and my 2 brothers! Awesome road trip!

1998 was a good one for the Tennessee fans. IIRC, that Florida team was 9-2 at the end of the season. I'm also surprised the 1998 Arkansas game didn't get on the list.
