Official Global Warming thread (merged)

LOL, the Skeptical Libertarian posted this article today and said, "This disproves climate change comments in 5, 4, 3..."

Not sure who the "Skeptical Libertarian" is, but I just posted an article about how it snowed in Cairo and Jerusalem. No mention from me about how this disproves anything

Again, I don't believe in "man-made" global warming.

I doubt many people will deny that the earth warms and cools. I don't have a doubt that man has some effect on it..but its not the AlGorian catastrophe some people think it to be.

I believe science has proven it was hotter back in the 1400/1500's..and all man was burning back then was feces, bodies, and witches.

With basic Chemistry/Physics knowledge I don't see how anyone can deny a greenhouse effect.

It's been global warming here like crazy the last few weeks. Supposedly haven't had this much global warming so early in the year since the 1800s

Do you think the combustion of fossil fuels and deforestation do not contribute to the greenhouse effect?

How much fossil fuel was being burnt 22,000 years ago when the last major ice age started to end?

Something warmed the planet up and I don't think man had much to do with it.

The gases magically disappear.

What deforestation? This paper says we are at 70% of where we were in the late 1600s when there were only a few million indigenous people in North America.

North America is the only continent that has trees?

Sure. However, it is just one (tiny) part in the very complicated process of climate change (a lot of which we still don't understand). There are other factors that have a much greater affect on climate change.

That said, we try to limit our carbon dioxide production and deforestation (not only here in the US but worldwide).

I was specifically talking about the Southern Hemisphere and more specifically the Amazon Rainforest. Of course that is not in our control, but still is an issue.

Stating an example of one reasoning toward climate change does not deny another possible reason.

no one here is denying that climate change is occurring, the dispute is over whether man is having an impact whether for good or ill.

The climate alarmists would shut down the global economy based on bad science that is driven by a political agenda.
