'14 JUCO DT Davonte Lambert (Auburn Commit 12/18/13)

If that's accurate then this isn't ending well at all.

The kid has insisted he has already made his mind up and now Wednesday is the end.

Hope that is taken out of context

Niebuhr added the snippet from Kipp Adams to his original post on Lambert, which wasn't much of a report. The key phrase from the post on Auburn247 is "Lambert didn't really elaborate." He will be a Vol.

Listening to anything that comes out of an Auburn mod that has to do with recruiting is like following an 8-ball for lifetime decisions. Everyone is an Auburn lean in their eyes, it is just a question of whether they have room or not.

Really sounds like they are stretching here. The only reason I think that is recycled story lines and conflicting reports from every other news outlet.

Okay, let's concede the "they're winning with their own players because of previous recruitment" arguement. How does that change that they're playing for a NC with those players? Even if it is with players they recruited before they left, it's a freakin' NC. So what is Lambert supposed to see? That the Auburn coaches can take players they recruited and take them to a NC game? How is that a negative for them? I just don't see how you can spin winning and playing for a NC as a bad thing. It's an arguement with no legs. Our hope is that Lambert just feels more comfortable with UT's coaching staff. That's where we win, if we win. We certainly don't have success to sell right now. We can hope playing time is a huge factor, but lots of playing time on a bad team isn't always as productive as less playing time on a good team.

Bottom line, we need to get back to winning. Winning is the panacea this team needs. It'll bring a better atmosphere to the program and the fanbase and give some momentum for Butch to work with. And I'm just tired of effing losing.

Doesn't matter. Next year they won't win those two Hail Mary games and be right back in reality.

Not so much from AU Rivals -

35% (Chance) Committed to Tennessee, AU making a push.

You are completely wrong. Auburn got better game by game this year and they will not need those Hail Mary games next year. Their passing game will be much better next year to go along with that running game.

Going to have to agree with Bruin on this one or maybe I'm just reading too much into it. Lambert said that next Wednesday is the end, which doesn't sound to me that he is so sure now. If he was sure, he would've said this one is over and I'm sticking with UT.

I'll be glad when Dec. 18th is here. Hopefully he sticks with the Vols.

I think next year alot of the teams they play will have adjusted to their run game. The game its self is always evolving. New offensive does well for a while then all the defenses adjust and learn how to stop it. They have been a little lucky this year but give credit to them they play hard and they execute .

Auburn got a few breaks in the last three games that usually don't come along very often. However, some still say that those who play the hardest have the most good breaks. Satan made the mistake of anticipating the missed field goal return.

Reality is they are playing for a NC this year and our team is sitting out the bowl season...again. Reality sucks when you're a Vol fan.

As far as next season, I've given up on prognostication. Every year, I've predicted the Vols will be better next year. That hasn't worked out so well. From now on, I'm about letting seasons play out before getting my hopes up. Maybe the Vols will be better next year. Maybe they'll be worse. No matter what, I'll cheer for my team.

I hope i'm wrong here, but I think he's currently either 50/50 or pro auburn.

here's why, assuming he legitimately plans on signing on wednesday:

situation 1: he's sticking with UT. I think if this was the case, he would just say it. he hasnt done that so far, which makes me think he may not be sold on UT at this point in time

situation 2: he's 50/50. If this was the case, you would see him speak in ambiguities, which he has been doing. In this situation, we can assume what he's currently saying is the truth

situation 3: he's pro auburn. If this was the case, he would either say he was pro auburn (and get shredded on twitter, etc. by UT fans) or speak in ambiguities (which he has, to avoid being shredded on twitter, etc.) In this situation, we can assume what he's currently saying is not the truth, but he's simply trying to avoid the social backlash before signing day.

situation 4: i'm way over analyzing this and really have no idea what he's thinking. this is a definite possibility

anyway, those are the reasons why I think he's either at 2 or 3 instead of 1. Hopefully I'm wrong. it just seems like he would be more vocally pro-UT if he was in situation 1. He's a big need, but Butch is a good recruiter. it'll be interesting to see how this plays out

He'll get more PT here for sure. He'll probably see the field at AU because he's that good, but he has the chance to make a real impact here.

You sound like you keep up with them quite a bit. The only stuff I saw about Auburn other than scores was their Flutie plays on the highlights.

Your prognostications are just as speculative as his were. Auburn did catch some luck breaks this year which can't always be counted on... They have great talent for sure but you can't speak in definitive terms about what they will do with such an average defense.

Will be interesting to see if Tre Mason enters the draft

Most think it is 50-50 that Mason enters draft. He has picked up a lot of steam draft-wise in the last month or so.
If he should go early, Corey Grant, Cameron Artis Payne, Peyton Barber and Rudy Ford will return with 5* Roc Thomas and Kamryn Pettway committed to Auburn.

I know the AU backs but thanks for telling me who would return and who is committed lol. About three of those guys won't get any carries next yr.

Luck doesn't exist. Clint made a bad play. Saban made a couple of bad decisions. Luck has nothing to do with it.

Luck had everything to do with stoerner making a mistake he'd never made his whole life at the exact second we needed hm to. UT did nothing to cause that beneficial occurrence, which is the definition of luck.

Not to be argumentative but if you can find it watch again, closely. There is a certain DL that would beg to differ.
