Exactly. He signed with UT a week earlier than the others...FSU got their panties in a wad, and leaked it after signing theirs. At that point the cat was out of the bag. The family was not going to announce that they had signed, or they would have let it be known right after they signed the UT papers.

This is exactly how I feel. I hope we are all ready for this and accept that we can't land them all. Plenty of other receivers out there. I would really like to have Powell back on board as well. I hope they can persuade him to reconsider staying in South Florida his college career. Either way, let's be proud of Butch & Co those guys are giving their all for Tennessee day after day.

So you are saying he was only going to sign with us and his decision was made then???


If so wouldn't that mean everything since then has been done just to build up the spotlight??

Tonight, an update/rumor will come out that makes it seem like Clemson is the choice. About an hour or two later, another update/rumor will come out that gives everyone hope.

About an hour before the announcement, 1 or 2 people will predict Clemson, making everyone panic leading into the annoucement.

If Malone chooses Clemson, I feel that the reason would be that Clemson has a body of work to show Malone what their offense looks like, where he would fit in, and what his role would be in the offense. The only variable missing is a QB with experience.

UT has little to show Malone of what the offense is supposed to look like. Butch will have to show Malone film of his offense at Cincinnati and Central Michigan. We, too, do not have a lot to show at QB except potential.

What I thought happened, and someone correct me if I misinterpreted this from a while back, was that the family wanted to sign the papers with all four schools allowing Josh basically unlimited contact with the coaching staffs of each of the 4 schools. He signed the Tennessee one first and FSU's staff, or someone close in their program, leaked the information that he had signed the agreement with UT.

Over the next several days, he signed agreements with each school and the respective coaches gave him their pitch. The family had asked the schools to keep it the signings quiet because they didn't want to bring attention to him.
