I can only think of one former coach over the last 20 years to have 1-strike-and-you're-out policies, and that's Kiffin.

When did Kiffin exercise this one strike policy? When players robbed people at gunpoint?

Kiffin the disciplinarian. Now I've heard it all.

Sure, if the strike was attempted armed robbery.

Our senior punter got his 4th alcohol-related incident, a DUI hit-and-run, and was allowed to remain on the team under Fulmer.

I put that above attempted armed robbery with a toy.

I'm not saying Fulmer was a Patton-esque disciplinarian.

I don't care if it was a candy bar, they were arrested for attempted armed robbery. The law doesn't care what they used either.

Where to start where to start...

Well let's see, Auburn won a National Championship by one of those players.

Onto the Kiffin topic. How many Kiffin recruits are still helping out the program? None, the last just played their last game. I'm still very appreciative of Kiffin for giving Daniel Hood a scholarship. We had arguably the best punter in the nation because of Kiffin. Our great former receivers (-Patterson) were thanks to the Kiffin regime. The majority of our O-Line was on board with Kiffin. There's a lot that we had during Dooley's tenure that he failed to win with, but it's dumb to act as if talent was missing.

How many would have been helping had the SC job not opened up? A whole damn lot.

People complain about the type of players that Kiffin brought to town, but don't have anything to say when it's brought up that he actually kicked people off the team for making mistakes. Of the last 3 coaches, Kiffin is the only one you could count on to remove bad seeds immediately.
I highlighted the BS parts of your statement. Also Kiffin left us a largely depleted roster and tried to deplete it more by stealing recruits. Again you can't run a successful program with criminals.

Hunter wasn't on our radar with Kiffin. Dooley closed DaRick. Kiffin was bringing in the "upstanding citizen" Markeith Ambles...remember him? I'll give you the oline, minus Tiny, and Palardy.

Kiffin removing "bad seeds"??? I don't even know where to start with this!

Oline minus James Stone also, oh, and Bullard.

And Kiffin removed Janzen right after the "robbery" incident too right?? Oh wait, no, he got to stay on the team....

I'd like to refer you to this post as proof that you're wrong about the receivers. As for the other way around, I'd be pissed if my new coach didn't try to continue recruiting kids he'd been recruiting for a year+.

And again, I disagree. Miami did it for decades.

Regarding the Clemson Insider site information that was posted last night, Woody Wommack of Rivals said "you're banging your head against the wall if you believe that that site has legit information."

Tennessee Volunteers Land Virginia Beach Star Justin Hunter | Bleacher Report

"This is a big addition for Tennessee's 2010 recruiting class and a strong start for new head coach, Derek Dooley. Hunter said he felt much more comfortable with coach Dooley than with the recently departured head coach, Lane Kiffin."

Darick Rogers - Lane Kiffin - Zimbio

"Da’Rick Rogers was staunchly in favor of Georgia until and unless, Derek Dooley team convinced him to pay them an official visit and according to Da’Rick Rogers, he fell in love with the campus life style over there and he witnessed an amazing program there. He further added that Derek Dooley was the prime reason behind his switching decision and he said that with Lane Kiffin he was not much interested but with Derek Dooley he was much interested in joining the team."

But you're right....I would MUCH rather take message board info and a conversation that a Frat Brother supposedly had with somebody's mom!

Anyone know what Clemson rivals is saying?

Name a single player that Dooley kicked off the team after 1 strike. How about Fulmer?

A one strike policy really isn't good for anyone, especially 18-21 year old kids with their first taste of freedom. Some acts are worthy of a one strike policy, but the majority are not. Your job as coach is to develop these kids as athletes AND young men. Kicking them to the curb for underage drinking or skipping class is bad business for all parties. Discipline them with their best interests at heart. Rarely does that involve booting them at the first sign of trouble.
