Everyone just needs to sit tight.

At some point in the next 28 hours our staff will find out, they will let VQ know and Paul and Brent will give us enough of an indication as to where we stand.

Unless he does like Hand did and not tell the staff's at all before the announcement (which hasn't been his plan).

If you see any negative comments at all from VQ staff, worry. If not, I say feel pretty good.

I would say the best we get from them is they like the momentum tenn has. They won't give more IMO

Excellent assessment of the situation!

If Malone is going to make a "business decision" then why would he not play for a guy that coached NFL receivers Antonio Brown and Kenbrell Thompkins, and also come play for a program that just produced two guys (Hunter and Patterson) that were just drafted this past year. This choice is simple, really.

Payne isn't going to be an EE. It isn't because he was told to wait, though.

The staff has known about this for weeks.

That stinks. As long as he is still coming its cool. Is it because he went back and forth between schools? I always worry about that when it comes to transcripts.

I figured the 14 EE wouldn't be a hard number since I'm sure someone not playing will transfer

Can one of you nice Vol fans confirm the channel in which his announcement is gonna be televised? I read it here last night but done some sleeping since then.

Of course, their counter will be DeAndre Hopkins, and soon-to-be pros, Sammy Watkins and Martavis Bryant.

VQ must be feeling pretty confident because they just released an article about how Butch Jones has lived up to his promise on locking down the state of Tennessee. It obviously doesn't say we are going to get Malone but it hinted that it is very possible that we lock the whole class up.

Some good quotes.

Relentless work, arguably more so than the considerable tradition of Tennessee's program and opportunities for immediate playing time, perhaps is the biggest component of the Vols' startling immediate in-state resurgence. When it could have sent one or two coaches last Friday to see the coveted five-star Malone, Tennessee instead sent nearly a half-dozen.

While Malone's other finalist, Clemson, sent two assistant coaches to Monday's awards ceremony, the Vols dispatched five: Tommy Thigpen, Willie Martinez, Mark Elder, Zach Azzanni and Steve Stripling.

Nearly every single prospect that VolQuest.com spoke to at the event referenced Tennessee's coaching presence; even an uncommitted target like Mosley admitted Jones' in-state appeal had heavily influenced his decision-making process.

"That's smart. You've got a lot of in-state talent and you used to let all of them get away and go to Ole Miss and places. Most kids considered Ole Miss in state instead of actually Tennessee. (Jones) has come in and he wants all in-state talent to stay," Mosley said. "He did a great job this year. Mostly everybody here is going to Tennessee. If not, they'll probably come later on because they'll realize it's the best thing. But you know we'll find out Friday what's the best thing for me.

"But it's just, Butch made it real personal. He wanted all of us to know. When we had a junior day, he pulled in every in-state kid there including the Berry twins that we want you here. This is your state and you need to get your state back to winning national championships. Let's get Rocky Top rolling, that's all he wants us to know. Every time we get down there on a visit, (Jones says) 'This is your state. You know, your state loves you. Do great things for your state and be a legend.' That's all he wants us to know. We've got a great opportunity as all in-state players to bring Rocky Top back to the top."

With an undeniable orange tinge to Monday's Mr. Football awards, the feeling was that Tennessee perhaps already is doing just that.

"Luckily, Coach Jones has built a border around our state and made sure that everybody is committed to Tennessee," said two-time Mr. Football winner Todd Kelly Jr., arguably this state's most decorated player this century. "We have a couple more people we need to get and hopefully we get those people. But it's very special and I'm glad to be a part of the class."

Bruce Feldman just tweeted that Clemson's OC Chad Morris is being mentioned for the Wake Forest job. I wonder how Chad Morris' future plans will affect Malone, if at all.

Well I'd say Mosely gave away his choice.
