First off, this isn't directed towards you but...

That's great and all, and I sincerely root for the players to improve but, this is a team sport, I'd MUCH rather see more wins than more individual improvement.

Anyone who rationalizes how another potential five win season next year is ok because Vereen or Dobbs or whoever improved, is reason enough to accept the status quo is a moron.

Butch deserves time to recruit his players and implement his season but I'm not going to accept another losing season, period.

To quote a line from one of my favorite movies:

"What is losing? Losing is a disease...as contagious as polio...as contagious as syphillis....as contagious as the bubonic plague...but ah! Curable!"

I'm ready for to be cured, with or without this staff. I'm loyal to UT first and foremost. Coaches get paid to win. I want results ON the field.

Problem is that muschamp wants to run a bama offense. Those aren't the players he has or is recruiting. It's like they have no identity.

They had to get rid of pease. Never was going to work out.

If uf gets this hire right it could be scary.

I bet that's exactly what uf and other sec fans were saying about UT when we were searching for another coach after canning Dooley.

Guess what, sec fans? Hate it for ya, but we got it right this time and you know it's already getting scary up in here! Boom! Deal with it.

Where is he going to go? Right now only USC is open and the ink that they will be going with Jack Del Rio.

I was actually writing it as if to say we could win much more than just 5 with the upgrades at each position

Idk ... There may not be a job worth taking but you never know till the NFL starts firing coaches. They may grab a coach from a good college football program. I was just saying he will be candidate for a big time job if one opens up this year.

Joe Schad reporting that Franklin and Peterson are top 2 candidates at USC, and they are near the end.

Don't get that. How does anyone know if a mediocre pro coach with little name recognition can recruit.

To his credit, Franklin has done it at a place that isn't easy.

Yeah, but Del Rio is a USC guy. I doubt he goes there, but I think he's their #1 guy.

Hope Frank leaves and fails though

One more thing, for the last couple of weeks, Jones has
made reference to the fact that Tennessee's roster will grow by 14 in
January with 14 mid-term enrollees. In fact, Jones spoke Saturday
night about how much the competition from newcomers will help the
program.

The reason the number is 14 is because that's based on the
number of scholarship seniors leaving the program. Tennessee will not
be able to backcount but 5 of those 14, but in order to have room for
the 14 they must be 14 under the 85 number in January when the spring
semester begins. We don't know what the final 14 list will look like. Of course one of those 14 would be Malone if he were to pick the Vols over Clemson on Wednesday.
