Nor do I, and I'm a Detroit fan. For the money Fielder was earning he was not worth it. Period. The only drawback is he was solid protection for Miggy. Lot of money off the books though, so shouldn't be a problem finding and paying someone capable. Detroit has one of the best GMs in the game. Fully trust him.

If it was a straight salary dump, then fine. However Kinsler's contract sucks and the Tigers are sending me to Texas.

Kinsler is already declining and has four years left on a fat contract himself . Detroit got rid of their second power threat. Now they have one.

They'll be more than fine. This all but guarantees Miggy will retire a Tiger. Also can lock up Scherzer and have room to sign another big bat. Bring me Beltran. Fielder is not going to age gracefully. He is 5'10 300 lbs man. That contract was gonna be an albatross.

Haha, Miggy is not fat. Prince Fielder is fat. Also Miggy has potential to be one of the greatest of all time, so there is zero correlation.

So trade Prince to pay a 31 year old 2B who's declining $62M, paying a 33 year old, out of shape first baseman and a pitcher with a ton of innings to a six year $100M contract is a good idea?

miggy and fielder career numbers aren't vastly different, but fielder was borderline bad last year.

it's definitely interesting. took some ballz. it is awesome that Profar will be unleashed.
