Mike Ferrell tweeted that there will be 6 new 5 stars added to the 2014 class after the next update. Could Malone be one of them?

Yes he is. Beat Doofus all 3 years plus Butch this year. '10, 11, 12, 13. The worthless snake in the grass was 09.

He was coaching the year Kiffins team beat the crap out of them.... no matter what you do you can't erase that loss. SMH

Is there any chance they are going to drop Hurd from a 5 because of the injury? It seems as if they didn't want to give him that fifth star to begin with.

Highly unlikely he drops. I do think Malone gets a 5th star. Garrett may as well. I still think Gaulden is the current commit who could/should make a huge jump.

The stars are supposed to represent the talent and potential of a player. Hurd's injury, at least IMO, does not reflect a drop in his talent or potential. If they drop him it will be a crock. Malone, Gaulden, and Garrett are also all beasts that should be talked about for a 5th star or at least be in the top 50 players in the nation.

That is why I dont see him dropping. A shoulder injury doesn't affect your level of God Given talent. Either you are an elite talent or you aren't and Hurd is clearly one. And I agree on the other three. It will be interesting to see if they do anything with Gaulden. He has to be one of the 2-3 most underated prospects in this entire class.

True, but kids get dinged in the rankings for poor grades all the time, and that has no bearing on their natural talent either. If they ding a kid for poor grades and how it could affect his ability to get/stay eligible, I wouldn't be surprised to see them ding a kid for an injury if they feel he is prone to injuries (which would justifiably affect his ability to stay on the field).

I'm not saying either case is right either. IMO, the rankings should reflect talent, and talent alone.

You forgot Wharton I think he's highly underated too. Should be a high 4 star IMO. At the very least.
