I agree. The older guys on O did a really good job last season and many will make solid pros.

I just think a good part of this is having the experienced players run a system that is foreign to what they were recruited to do and are capable of doing well. I still contend Butch got a pass from Hart to run his system regardless of the result so that the younger guys would have a leg up going into 2014 and beyond. That may be totally off base, but it sure appears to be the case.

you may be right but with our QB and skill players no system would have looked much better than what we have done - I will take a mediocre OL and great QB/skill play all day long vs a great OL and mediocre QB/skill play

I never understood the hire. They get rid of Fisher more or less because he had been there for so long and things were stagnant. You would think in that scenario they would clean house with the coaching staff and get a fresh start, not promote from within and basically change nothing.

They need fresh blood in there badly.
I was sad to see Fisher go and it seems like it has been all down hill since then...REALLY hope they do something soon!

You are right - great QB/skill can overcome line mediocrity in the right schemes. Blocks don't have to be sustained long for it to work.

Here is a good breakdown of the zone read from Oregon's POV.

Thank you DazzleVol - I watched the video and think I now have an actual practical basic understanding of the zone read offense - for the very first time!

I don't understand the Titans either and agree with jjay. Why look inside the organization for a HC when you are already not satisfied with the progress as it is? That's a lazy hire or it is just going cheap - one or the other or both.

The Titans have work to do on their roster anyway. So why not get a top guy that would attract the talent you need?

They need to go ahead and run Munchak out of Nashville....like, yesterday!

It's obvious he's not going to get it done. Has he even made the playoffs? With Bud Adams passing, I think it's time to clean house.

When you hire a mediocre coach, don't expect above average results. Munchak is pretty much the definition of average IMO.

Agreed. I think I'd like Coach Munchak as a person if I met him, but dang, there's no hope for the Titans' future with him at the helm. No reason to think that next year, they'll compete for the AFC. None.

There was some discussion of this back in early spring on here I think. Fishduck.com is where you'll find it. Plus many other tutorial videos. Try smartfootball.com and grant land too. Think it was posted in the around NCAA forum

It's becoming apparent that Butch has realized that his athletes are worse than even he thought. That's why you see him looking to add more pieces to the puzzle and now.

I think he probably knew it was this bad coming in.

When you look at who preceded him and the classes he signed it was pretty evident.

Funny article. I like how it explains our talent deficiencies, then says (as though we should be surprised) that our rushing defense statistics got worse rather than better after we faced Bama, Mizzou, and Auburn.

Aren't they the top three rushing offenses in the conference?

Too much downtime on an off week for these writers.

I believe by 2016 we will have multiple LB sets utilizing up to 5 different players depending on down and distance.

This is something we dont have the personnel to do right now.

Since its bye week and slow around here I guess I will work on an avi. I will be sure to include someone who lives here who you guys wouldn't mind lookn at. A lot better than some celeb if you ask me. I mean girl next door, it could happen.
