The Runner's thread

That's insane. 8-10 miles every day will destroy you. I can't imagine running more than 3-4 days a week, especially at my age (37). Those recovery days are essential and allow for weights/strength/flexibility training.

It wasn't a 8-10 mile straight run. And some days were easier than other.

And yes, it can really wear a runner down. Plenty of runners I ran with had persistent injuries because they didn't rest enough.



Looking for new running shoes. Something I can do 3-5 miles a day in. Something not too expensive but obviously high quality and durable. Suggestions?
 
Finished my first 5k today. 26:40 I think, not as fast as I wanted, but having to maneuver around people was a killer. A lot of fun though! I may do another one sometime.
